"Ahjussi!! I reserved a ticket and I'm here now to claim it! Please!! Give me my ticket!! Please!!"
Jennie Kim's voice echoed the whole ferry ticket station when she arrived 20 minutes late from the airport. She doesn't care if she's drawing attention from the other passengers.
Jennie: "Ahjussi!! Please! I'm begging you! I need to go to Jeju for my friend's wedding!!" she knocked the window booth several times to get the man's attention.
The man who is she referring to as an Ahjussi, turned around from his chair and sighed. Jennie was surprised to learn that the 'Ahjussi' is not really a middle aged man. She took a good look at him. He's cute with his porcelain white skin and small lips. He has a small eyes just like her. He looks like a human cat. She glanced at his ID and read it "Min Yoongi". She smiled at him, hoping her smile will be contagious.
Yoongi: "Yahh! Ahjumma!! I told you many times we're closed!" he pointed the "CLOSED" sign in an irritated manner. "You should've been here early! That's the rule, eh?! Now go away! Aigoo!" he closed the booth and turned his back at her.
He was mumbling like a whining Grandpa.
Jennie was shocked to hear that he called her Ahjumma. Her patience was wearing thin but she needs to please this man for the Jeju Ferry ticket.
Jennie: "I really need it, Oppa. Please..I'm one of the bridesmaids." she tried not to cry.
Her pleadings are falling into deaf ears. She's tired & hungry. She took out a bread from her bag and wiped the tears from her cheeks while munching. She decided to take a seat in the waiting area. Suddenly, her phone rang. She answered it.
Jennie: "Hey Lisa!" she faked a cheerful tone.
Lisa: "Jennie Unnie!! Have you seen the gown? Oh my god! They're so pretty!!" she beamed.
Jennie: "Oh, not yet. I'm still on my way." she lied.
Lisa: "On your way? Do you need help?" she sounded worried.
Jennie: "No. No. I'm..I'm fine. I'll be there in a few hours. I promise." she choked in her own tears.
Lisa: "I told you it's better to go to Jeju via flight than ferry."
Jennie: "I want to try ferry." she faked a laugh.
Jennie took the ferry option because it's cheaper than the plane. She's broke.
Lisa: "I want to try ferry too but Jungkook doesn't want me to go without him." she pouted at her boyfriend, seated in the couch, playing games.
Jungkook winked at Lisa and his attention is back on the screen again.
Jennie: "Well.." she smiled when she heard Jungkook looking for his banana milk over the line.
Lisa: "Wait up." she placed her on hold.
She admired Lisa & Jungkook's relationship. She wondered if ever she will have a boyfriend like him. The almost perfect boyfriend. She had suitors but she was too focused on her art career than to pursue a romantic relationship.
Lisa: "Hey, I'm sorry, I need to go. We forgot to buy Jungkook's banana milk."
Jennie: "Yup. No worries. Go. I'll see you soon."
Lisa: "Take care, okay. Just call me if you need help. I love you!"
Jennie: "I love you too." she hung up.
Jennie took a deep breath and look at Jisoo's wedding card invitation. Her friend that is so dear to her will get married and she's uncertain if she will see her walk down the aisle or not. She sniffled, preventing herself not to cry.
She reflected on her crumbling life and thought if she was a very bad person to go through such a difficult time. Their bakeshop in New Zealand is on the verge of bankruptcy. She recently closed her art studio because she couldn't afford the rent and she will be kicked out in her condo in a few weeks because of her late payment.
And now, she's not sure if she can attend Jisoo's wedding. She cannot afford the flight fare and her charm is not working with Mr. Ticket Booth Yoongi. She remained seated, waiting for Min Yoongi to open the window booth when she realized her sculpture is sitting next to the display ferry fare list. She forgot to grab it when she was looking for a seat to rest.
Jennie: "Oh my Jisooni!" she stood up and decided to take her artwork when Yoongi opened the window booth.
A tall guy with a headphones on, approached the window booth and she saw that Yoongi smiled so bright to the guy. She walked faster towards the window booth hoping that Yoongi will give her her ferry ticket.
When she was near the window, she heard Yoongi and the guy bantering in a Daegu dialect and she was a bit confused but didn't care to mind them. Yoongi didn't even notice her. She wanted the ferry ticket so bad.
In her disbelief, Yoongi handed the tall guy a ferry ticket and Jennie was infuriated. That's the moment she let her presence be known.
Jennie: "Yahhh!!! That's unfair!! He's late!!" she was fuming mad.
Yoongi: "What the..You're here again?" his eyebrows crossed.
The tall guy didn't seem to be bothered by Jennie and handed Yoongi a thick brown envelope.
Yoongi: "Thanks! Appreciate it." he took the brown envelope, peeked inside and smiled.
Jennie: "That's my ticket!!" she shouted at the guy.
She got the guy's attention now and looked down to face her. He pulled his headphones down to hear her. "Moragu?" he has a deep husky voice.
Jennie: "I said that's my ticket! You came here 40 minutes late! I was late for only 20 minutes, so technically, that's my ticket!" she slammed the window booth with her small hand that made Yoongi a bit surprised.
The guy smiled at her cute reaction and just shrugged his shoulder. "Well.." he said in a teaseful tone. But Jennie was too pissed off and is now desperate to get her ticket.
Jennie: "That's my ticket!!" she tried to get the ticket from the guy's hand but he was quick to put it out of her reach.
"If you'll get it, it's yours." the guy enjoyed the sight of her jumping up & down to get the ticket from his hand.
Jennie: "It's mine!!! You were late! You jackass!" she's pushing him now.
Yoongi was moved to see Jennie's determination to go to Jeju and interuppted them.
Yoongi: "Yahh! Taehyung-ah! Hajima!" he sounded worried now.
Taehyung: "But Hyung she was---wooahh!!" he was shocked.
Jennie pushed Taehyung hard. His back hit her sculpture sitting near the window and it fell on the floor.
Jennie: "Nooooo!!!" she shouted and tried to save her artwork.
But it's too late. It fell on the ground and broke into pieces. She spent her last 2 months creating that sculpture from scratch.
Taehyung: "Oopss.." he said when he intentionally stepped on the broken pieces.
Taehyung walked past Jennie who was frozen in front of the broken sculpture.
Jennie: "You asshole!!" she ran towards Taehyung.
Yoongi hurriedly went out the booth, prediciting what will happen.
YAAHHHHHHH!!!
Taehyung looked back and he was welcomed with a punch.
