War against the Chimera Ants

Reunion

After parting ways with Zushi, Leorio, Bisky, and Wing at Heavens Arena. Gon, Killua, Wendy, Happy, and Carla are in a Mist forest with sakura pedals flowing down.
"Woooww." Gon and Wendy looks around in amazement, "The pedals are blooming beautifully here." She said, with Carla smiling in agreement.

"Aye." Happy paws up.

"It sure is." Killua looks around amazingly too and brings up, "Relaxing view after watching the Battle Olympia."

"Yeah, shame that Zushi didn't win the whole thing." Happy sighs.

"But there's always next time and even he wasn't all that bummed out about it." Gon said.

"He held his head high afterward. The kid still has room for improvement." Carla said, believing he can get better.

"Yes, he'll win the next Battle Olympia for sure and we'll be there to cheer him on again." Wendy smiles and they agree.

Suddenly, the hear a 'click' sound coming from somewhere, "???" It sounded like something landed in a water.
"Look over there!" Carla pointed.

They all turn to see what the white exceed was pointing at and it was a man fishing.

"Who is that?" Happy asks.

Gon gets the feeling that he knows this guy, telling by the fishing rod and utters, "Ging."

"Is that..." Happy trails.

"You're father you've been trying to find?" Carla finishes the sentence.

They see that this is a good chance for Gon to finally reunite with his father after all this time.

"Go on, Gon." Wendy said, getting him to.

He nods and walks toward the person he though was his father, however, while walking, he stepped into a wood trap.

"Huh?" Gon looked confused.

Soon a bunch of red ants popped out of the ground and unlike the normal insects, these ones were more savage than any other thing they ever seen.

''Ants!'' Happy screams.

Get down.'' Said a new voice.

''Huh?" They asked.

Soon the new person stood up and he was carrying a big shot gun, he then pointed the weapon toward the group.

''What!'' They scream in horror.

BANG.

The group felt that they were going to die, but he shoot the ground and the ants, killing them. So they were safe by the mysterious person.

''Gi..'' Gon utters

However, upon seeing who was this person, he didn't look anything like Gon. He was a tall man with long hair, a turtleneck and a blue hat. Nobody there except Gon had any idea who he was. But Happy had ask...

''Is that Ging?'' The blue exceed asked.

The tall man only gives them a medium glare before taking off his cloak.

Gon looks at the man and says, "No... that's not Ging."

"Huh?" Wendy asks in confusion.

"That's not?" Carla asks.

"Hey, what was that about?" Killua asks the man, who walk up to where they are.

"If I hadn't opened fire, you would have been attacked." He replies.

"You mean, by the ants?" Happy points at the dead ones.

Suddenly, the half-dead ants spring up onto Happy, Carla, and Wendy, biting their legs.

"Ow!" Wendy grunts.

"Aaah!" The exceeds exclaim, as all three are bitten.

"Guys!" Killua exclaim in shock.

"Tch!" The man swats the ants off them, making the three fall to the ground as the man then shots the ants dead, making them explode with a rifle.

"These are no ordinary ants." The man said, "They are Chimera Ants."

"Chimera Ant?" Killua asks.

"An aggressive, carnivorous insect, currently under class-1 quarantine." He explains, "From time to time, they even attack humans and you were standing in front of their nest. Had I not fired, then a chimera ant army would have consumed you by now."

"Woah... well thanks for saving us. That was close." Happy sighs.

The man only looks at them before vanishing and giving them each a connected punch.

"Argh!" Gon and Killua grunt.

"AAH!" Wendy, Happy, and Carla grunt too, all hitting the ground.

After the damaged is cured quickly, "What the hell was that for?!" Killua exclaims in question.

"You kids deserve it for being reckless." He replies.

Glancing after rubbing his cheek, "I feel like this has happened before..." Gon utters.

The man gives Wendy and the exceeds an antibiotic to cure the bites they received form the ants as his rifle suddenly talks like a normal person, "What? That's it? Let's go nuts already!"

"Shut up and go away." The man commands his gun before it goes in a puff of smoke.

"His gun spoke!!!" The kids(except gon) and the exceeds thought in dramatic surprise.

Standing up, "You should leave as well." The man recommends to them, before lowing his hat and complains, "Damn, not I have to start all over." He adds, "Man, forced to take another life..."

"Ah!" Gon exclaims, finding that line familar.

"What's wrong?" Carla asks and they all turn to him, man included.

Gon gets a flashback of when he was little and was cornered by a bear and it's cub until the man just now, saved him and killed the giant bear. And even gave little Gon a punch to the face while complain 'Man, forced to take another life..."

Recognizing the man now, "Are you... the one who saved me back then?" Gon asks.

"Back then?" The man asks.

"On whale island, after I stumbled into the territory of a foxbear with it's cub." Gon said, "And that time, you had to kill in order to protect me."

Remember that Gon was the one he saved back then, the man smiles, "So it was you. I never expected to run into you here again." He shows his eyes from his hat, "You've grown, Gon."

"Huh?" They all question.

"How do you know my name?" Gon asks.

"From your dad." He replies, "Ging."

"How do you know, Ging?" Gon asked, surprise.

"Because he was my master." The man smiles and reveals his name, "I am Kite."

That ends it. The Chimera Ant arc starts! Lots of hype and sad moments incoming.
