Itadori Yuuji is your everyday highschool student. He has a couple friends, average grades, and a daily routine. He goes to school everyday, and walks through the same small park on the way home at the end of the day. The same thing, day in, day out. At least, it used to be.
On one sunny Friday, Yuuji is walking home from school, as he always does, when he spots something unusual. He hears the sound of a young girl calling out to someone, along with an infant crying. Looking over, he sees the slumped form of a man sitting on one of the park's benches, a girl who looks to be no older than five shaking his body to no response. Next to them is a stroller with an infant strapped in snugly, the baby inside is wailing at the top of its lungs in clear distress.
Yuuji shoulders his bag and jogs over, as he approaches, he hears her frantic cries of "Wake up!" Quickening his pace, he drops his bag and he kneels next to the young girl.
"Hi there," he says, his voice as warm and soothing as the sun. "What's wrong?" Yuuji leans forward to look into her brown eyes, glistening with tears. The soft scent of peaches and honey permeate through the air as Yuuji releases a small amount of his pheromones in an attempt to soothe the child.
It seems to work. As she tries to hold her sobs back, her breath hitches as she cries out, "Satoru-nii won't wake up!" Fat tears dripping down her face as she looks at the man.
Yuuji gently wipes away her tears with his thumbs, "Do you need any help waking him up?"
"Satoru-nii said not to talk to strangers." She looked at him hesitantly.
"And Satoru-nii is right! But how about this, my name is Itadori Yuuji! Now that you know my name, that means we're not strangers anymore!" He smiles at her reassuringly. "Can you tell me your name, sweetheart?"
"...Tsumiki."
Yuuji turns and looks at the stroller, "Tsumiki-chan, is it okay if I pick up the pup?" At her curious gaze, he explains, "I don't want them crying any longer than they already have, it's not good for the pup."
Sniffling, Tsumiki nods and points at the baby. "That's my baby brother, his name is Megumi." She says in the tone that only young children can manage.
Yuuji stands and moves to the stroller. He quickly unbuckles the infant and maneuvers him out of the straps before cradling his head and bringing him close to his chest. Bouncing Megumi up and down and letting out a soft purr, Yuuji releases another wave of pheromones in order to soothe him further. The baby quickly begins to settle, letting out small hiccups, his head turning to burrow in Yuuji's collarbone.
Now that both children have calmed down, Yuuji turns to inspect the man currently slumped over on the bench.
The man looks to be tall, as his legs sprawl out in front of him. His hair is snow-white, as well as the lashes fanning across his cheeks. His skin is blemish-free apart from the dark circles under his eyes. Yuuji secures Megumi with one arm as he holds two fingers under the man's nose. He feels a puff of air, which only confirms his suspicions. It looks like he sat down and passed out from exhaustion. Yuuji moves his hand to grasp the man's shoulder and begins to gently shake him.
It takes a minute or two, but the man's eyes shoot open, flying to the stroller before falling onto Yuuji in front of him. The teen is cradling Megumi in the crook of his arm, his honey-colored eyes full of concern. Tsumiki, kneeling on the bench next to him, rushes forward and tackles him in a hug, almost falling off. The man quickly wraps his arm around the young girl, settling her on his lap and rubs her back in a soothing manner.
"Are you okay?" Yuuji asks, leaning forward to further inspect the man.
"What happened?" He groans, a hand coming up to run through his white hair, messing it up.
"I was walking by and I heard the children crying," Yuuji shifts Megumi in his arms, rocking side to side, "I came over because I saw Tsumiki-chan trying to wake you up. I managed to calm the pups down before waking you up."
Gojo's eyes widened in shock, before putting his face in his hands and groaning loudly, "I literally fell asleep as soon as I sat down." He looks up at Yuuji, the sun creating a halo behind his head, making the teen seem angelic.
"Thank you very much for your help. I don't know how I could possibly repay you."
Yuuji hummed before flashing a bright smile at him. "You can repay me by giving me your name. How does that sound?"
"Satoru. Gojo Satoru." He blushes slightly at how cute Yuuji is, his eyes crinkling in the corners from his wide smile, Megumi cuddled close to his chest. The teen was the perfect example of a loving dam, and it made Satoru's alpha howl with protectiveness. Nothing would happen to this Omega, he would make sure of it.
"Well then, Gojo-san, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Itadori Yuuji!" He bows slightly, taking care to not jostle the infant in his arms. "May I ask how you got in this position?"
"You may want to sit down, it's kind of a long story." Satoru motions next to him, inviting Yuuji tonsil down. Tsumiki is dozing in his lap, tired from the emotional upheaval that occurred earlier.
Yuuji lowers himself into the bench, once again adjusting Megumi. The infant is sound asleep, his head turned into Yuuji's chest.
"Tsumiki and Megumi came into my care about 3 months ago. Their father passed away and he listed me as their guardian. I had no idea until Social Services came to my door and dropped them off." He sighs, rubbing a hand across his face, "I didn't know the first thing about taking care of children. I started attending parenting classes, finding daycares and school for Megumi and Tsumiki. I've been juggling taking care of the pups alongside taking classes at university and I guess it finally caught up to me."
Yuuji listened attentively, his heart aching for the man. "And have you thought about getting a babysitter, or even a nanny for the pups?"
"I have, but they don't get along with any of them, Megumi especially." Satoru chuckles, "I'm pretty sure this is the happiest I've seen him, he's not even this comfortable with me."
Yuuji hums, "Gojo-san, I have a proposition for you."
"What kind of proposition?" Satoru smirks, "I didn't think you were into single fathers, Yuuji-kun."
Yuuji's face flushes red, "Not that kind of proposition!" He pouts at Satoru, who is chuckling at his reaction. "I was thinking, since the kids seem comfortable with me, if you would be willing to have me as their babysitter?"
Satoru smiles, his bright blue eyes shining in excitement. "Are you serious?"
"As serious as a heart attack."
"Well then, welcome to the Gojo family, Itadori Yuuji."
