Chapter 3: The Cold Force and Prince Frieza

"King Vegeta. Bardock wants to speak to you." A Saiyan guard said as he stood upon his King.

He frowned, knowing what Bardock want. He sighed and responded, "Bring him in."

Then a guard brought Bardock, alongside two humans, to his throne room. As the three entered, King Vegeta never expect to meet two odd figures who looked like him and his kind for the first time. They don't have tails because they aren't Saiyans. What are they doing here and why are they here? He wanted some answers.

"Bardock, who are they? And where are they from?" King Vegeta questioned the lower-class warrior.

Bardock cleared his throat and announced, "Your Majesty, this is Kouta Higurashi and Eric. They are from outer space. They claimed that they were attacked by the space whale until they arrived on Planet Vegeta, needing our help to restore the spaceship."

King Vegeta narrowed his eyes as he faced Kouta and Eric. "Why do you two want to stay here?" He questioned them.

Kouta began, "We only came here in peace and mean no harm because we needed your help to send us home."

"Where are you two from?" He questioned them.

"Earth," Kouta answered.

"I see. And I prefer you two are Earthlings, correct?" He questioned them again.

Kouta nodded.

King Vegeta sighed at this and gave them a small smile. "Very well. Before you two leave, I will send my men to build the ship. I also shall send you two to live with Bardock. It will take a while to build the spaceship for you."

"But, sire, don't we have plenty of pad ships? We should have sent them home right now." A certain tall and well-muscled Saiyan. However, a male Saiyan appeared much different than his counterpart, having a fairer complexion with a less pronounced forehead and smaller chin. He is also considerably older, even by Saiyan standards. While originally having spikey black hair that stood up with long bushy sideburns, and a well-groomed mustache.

King Vegeta glared at him. "No one needs your advice, Paragus. Those humans are not fit to be lower-class warriors. They needed our help to build the ship."

Paragus scoffed, "But how can we trust them!? We don't know them! What if they're lying and what if they'll try to let our guard down!? What will happen to us!?"

"Enough, Paragus! I do not want to hear your complaints! If they aren't telling the truth, we would have sent them back where they came from! Those humans needed our help to build the ship! Now silence and stop your complaints!" King Vegeta shouted at them as the three men stayed silent.

He sighed in defeat and bowed down. "Yes, Your Majesty."

"Bardock."

"My King?" Bardock asked as he flinched a bit.

"Send them to your place. I'll send them to rebuild the ship." King Vegeta suggested him.

He nodded. "Yes, King Vegeta."

"Thank you so much for letting me stay here, Your Highness," Kouta said, bowing down to him one last time before he and Eric left the throne room.

He smirked. "I don't see why not. You are welcome to stay here for a while. You look kind."

Kouta smiled at him in response until they headed back to Bardock's village. When the three left the castle, Paragus couldn't help but glare at Kouta and Eric as he refused to trust them. He never liked them at all.

Eight months had passed since King Vegeta had let them stay on Planet Vegeta, Kouta and Eric became friends with Bardock and King Vegeta. Their friendship has grown stronger over eight months. They never have to be worried about their family getting worried sick about their disappearance. However, Kouta missed his wife, his family, and his best friend Suko. He promised them that he will come back. However, he just hopes they aren't thinking that he and Eric are both dead. He needed to get back to Earth in no time. Unfortunately, it will take a year to build the spaceship.

In every way, Bardock and Kouta are closet friends as they got along and know each other very well. They also talked about their lives. Kouta also told him about what Earth looks like and they were from different dimensions in outer space.

Bardock has trained Kouta and Eric in fighting skills and hand-to-hand combat. He needed them to get in the lower class warriors, so the two can help them work their job to fight off creatures. The three had worked together to protect Planet Vegeta.

One day, Bardock's wife, Gine, has given birth to a baby boy named Raditz. Kouta and Eric became godfathers to Raditz after his birth. They accepted Bardock's offering and be part of their family, part of Raditz's life.

Eventually, King Vegeta announced that his son was born and decided to name him Vegeta The IV. He also invited Kouta and Eric to the ceremony of the birth of Prince Vegeta, which leaves Paragus angry and flamed with jealousy.

Paragus still didn't trust them and didn't want to be friends with the humans. He refused to talk to them. He only gives them a hateful look. However, he wished Kouta and Eric would be gone for good. They have been staying here for too long. He needed to get rid of them once and for all.

One day... On that fateful day...

King Cold watched over Planet Vegeta through his scouter screen as his fleet approached, attended closely by Berryblue, Kikono, Zarbon, Dodoria, the Ginyu Force, and others. The Saiyans take notice as the ships enter the atmosphere; Gine, Kouta, and Eric emerged from her house with a concerned expressions.

Cold's vanguard flew out of the mothership in advance of its landing, and the fleet took no care avoiding structures as the ships fly up to King Vegeta's castle, and some structures are destroyed, which angered Beets. 

King Vegeta's Majordomo entered the throne room to inform him that King Cold has come, but he can see that for himself; the king seem displeased at this unexpected visit, and nervous, while Paragus was seen shaking in fear as the ships fly past the windows of the throne room.

The vanguard landed at the spaceport, followed by the mothership. Cold disembarked with his entourage, including his son Frieza. King Vegeta and his retinue went to go meet them.

Cold greeted King Vegeta, who offered his hand in welcome, but Cold ignored it. He instead introduced the Saiyans to Frieza, and after a brief hesitation, the king welcomed Frieza and kneeled before him. The other Saiyans followed suit. Frieza acknowledged their greeting.

Cold announced his retirement and the ascension of his young son, placing a fatherly hand on his shoulder, which Frieza clearly dislikes. Cold explained that Saiyans will serve Frieza as they have served him, the only thing that will change is that Frieza is more cruel than he is.

When Cold was done speaking, Frieza flicked the hand off his shoulder and laughed, introducing himself with condescension. He announced that he has high expectations for the Saiyans, causing the king to blanch. However, he has an inaugural gift for his new subjects, many devices called scouters, which are a compact version of the Scout-scopes the Saiyans have used previously, and they can be worn as headgear.

As Frieza demonstrated the ability of these new scouters to detect life forms and assess battle power, he noticed snipers aiming for him from the battlements of the castle. He remarked that one of them has a battle power of over 2000, and then he took out all four mutineers before anyone knew what was going on. Frieza left them with five hundred scouters, the fleet departs, and King Vegeta was left crushing his scouter in frustration.
