Phoenix Flare was known for being a strong and often brutal fighter, recognizable by her silver fur along with her black and red uniform and dark makeup, it's hard to mistake her for anyone else. She's skilled in hand-to-hand combat and a variety of weapons. Combined with her magical affinity for fire, she was virtually unstoppable until a particular mutant, just a bit taller than she was, made the foolish mistake of challenging her to a duel in the middle of central park.

"Leo, this is a tremendously bad idea," said the purple-clad turtle known to most as Donnie. "Relax D. I got this!" replied the blue-masked turtle called Leo. Leo spun his word in a figure-eight pattern before resting it on his shoulder. His stance was not only unassuming, but it was also almost mocking. He wasn't taking this seriously. "I don't have time for children here to play games," Phoenix growls, her stance remaining guarded, and Leo chuckles. "You aren't taking me seriously, are you puppy?" he asks, attempting to flirt. "Why would I? You don't seem to be taking me seriously either, and your little nickname isn't funny reptile boy," she retorts. "Your tail seems to think differently, puppy," he adds, pointing to her wagging tail. "How about I shove that sword of yours up your ass?!" she yells, charging a now startled Leo.

"Well, that was easy!" he shouts, barely dodging. A blue portal opens in front of her as she skids to a halt, almost not stopping in time. Flare leaps back, searching for the blue masked turtle. "Woah, you're faster than I thought!" he shouts from behind her. "I'm a wolf, you idiot. I have increased agility. You would have known that if you bothered to research your opponent before you fight them," she shouts back, turning around. "Who has time for that?" he asks, leaping into the air. Flare takes a relaxed defensive stance and smirks as he lifts his sword over his head.

The sword sliced at the empty air as Flare dodged. Leo swiped the sword at her, only for her to dodge. "As I said, it is better to research your opponent and their associates before engaging with them, Leonardo. You are a son of Lou Jitsu, along with the wielder of a mystic Odachi sword with the ability to form portals," she informs him. His eyes widen and look directly into Flare's eyes as they flash with something almost primal. She pounces, pinning him to the ground, wrapping her teeth around his neck, and growling. Sensing a shiver course through his body, she sat back, her tail wagging happily. "Meet me here again tomorrow, just before midnight. That is if you want a rematch, pretty boy," she says, standing back up.

Noticing the blush on Leo's face, Flare smirks again. "I'm Phoenix, by the way. Phoenix Flare," she told him before heading for the portal back to The Hidden City. She liked this boy, but she couldn't explain why or how exactly she liked him, which irritated her.

Had Donnie just recorded that entire fight? Of course, he did. He originally planned to embarrass his younger twin brother by sending the video to the family group chat. However, he decided that saving it from blackmail would be a better course of action. He'd be lying if he said he didn't get a little worried when the wolf girl pinned Leo to the grass, especially since Leo has yet to stand back up since the girl left, not long ago.

Leo was in shock from being pinned to the ground. Let's be honest now he was shell-shocked by the whole fight. Not to mention how close her teeth got to puncturing the skin on his neck. Even her growl continued to resonate in his bones. It was exciting and terrifying. He felt like he had just cheated death. He wanted to fight her again, but some instinct told him to avoid her at all costs, with that voice getting quieter and quieter. "Leo, if you died, you'd text me, right?" Donnie asks.

Leo finally sits up and looks at his twin brother with the dumbest smile on his face. "Did you see that, Donnie?!" he says, scrambling to his feet. "Yeah, I recorded the whole thing," Donnie replies, bored. "You've got to send that to me. She was so cool!" Leo gushes. He knew he was acting like a lovestruck puppy, but he couldn't care less. Donnie looked at him like he just spoke another language. "She almost killed you," Donnie states. "No! She didn't...she wasn't...okay maybe she did at first, but I'm not dead yet!" Leo retorts. Donnie rolls his eyes and starts walking in the general direction of home.

"I cannot believe you're starting to simp over a girl who could have easily bitten your head off."

"You fell in love with a Vocaloid program and a Yandere!"

"We were eleven, it was the first time I'd ever seen Hatsune Miku, and Yuri isn't a Yandere."

They hear a familiar laugh behind them as none other than Yuri herself walks up to join them. "I've never heard a more ridiculous lie in my life. Also, Hatsune Miku? Really, Don?" she asks. "Again, I was like, eleven at the time!" he repeats, and Yuri puts her hands up in a surrendering gesture. "Anyhow, from what I just heard, Leo's got a new girlfriend," Yuri taunts. Leo blushes and smiles in an attempt to hide his nervousness. "And you sound surprised because?" Leo asks. She shrugs and pops her knuckles. "I always sort of thought someone like that would go for a guy like, Raph is all," Yuri replies dismissively, and Leo blows a raspberry. She laughs again as they continue back to the lair.

Leo liked this girl, this Phoenix Flame, and could only hope she felt the same. From their short skirmish, even he could tell that she was well versed in various combat styles. The fur of her paws had been soft as silk and surprisingly cool. If he was being truthful, he wouldn't mind curling up next to her and taking a nap. However, he didn't overlook the fact that there was more to this girl than meets the eye.
