She loved school. She loved learning, reading books, her friends, swimming now and again, dancing and cars. There was lots she loved. But she couldn't love. It was irrational for her to love. She had never loved before, and no one had loved her ever. She saw good in everyone, but no one saw anything in her.

He liked school, but he loved a lot of other things. He loved maths, football matches on a Sunday morning, hanging out with his friends, spending time with his family and chemistry equations. There was lots he loved. But he couldn't love. It was too irrational of him to love. He had been loved too many times, and now couldn't face the bear of inflicting the pain and suffering onto someone else he had felt over and over again. He saw good in everyone, but he never found love in people.
