August 31st, 2021 First day of school. this is the first average school year after 3-years. I'm in 7th grade. I can't wait let's get on to the story
Pov Hayden
I woke up and looked in the mirror. "time to get ready" I said I took a quick shower got dressed and got on the bus to go to school. I saw my best friend Elijah and I haven't seen him in so long. as we walked down the hallway talking to each other a person passes by and says hi to Elijah ("damn she's cute, I wonder if I have any classes with her?") I call out to Elijah "last one their is a rotten egg!!" we stop by some of our teachers as we get to class.
I was talking to Elijah until the girl from the hallway walks in. ("hell yeah, she's in my class") Elijah walks up to her to say hey and ask her something and then comes back to me. "Elijah, who is the cutie?" I asked. "oh that's one of my friends JJ, why do You like her?" he said teasing me. "Yeah she's cute, is she talking to anyone?" "I think she mentioned something about liking someone," he answered. "God dammit, It's always the cute ones!" I whispered aggressively. Then the bell rang I went to my seat and class started. "Okay class since it is the first day we have an assembly." The teacher projected. So we all got up and went to the gym. When we reached the gym I sat on one side of Elijah and JJ sat on the other side of him I couldn't help but look at how cute she was, so I started playing it off as if I was looking at someone else.
at the end of the assembly, we all went to our 3rd-period class. Not much happened in the 3rd and 4th periods. in 5th period was lunch. We got to pick where we sat and I sat with Elijah while I was talking to him JJ came over to ask him something once she left I told Elijah I thought she was really cute. Then I made a bet that I would date her before the end of the school year because not only would it be a challenge but it would also be a dream come true. We then skip to the 7th-period chorus I didn't think I would have any more classes with her but I was wrong. in choir we sat right next to each other yet no conversation happened. I was losing hope day by day 8th period was the last period I had with her 8th and we sat on complete other sides of the room.
Nothing between us happened for a whole 2 months until Elijah helped me out. Elijah and I were talking and she walks up and said: "Hey Elijah." in a flirty tone. Jokingly I told her to back off he is mine. which started a play fight that I won and I got Elijah's heart. During 7th period Our teacher asked who was going to join a choir group called all county I raised my hand. so did JJ and a couple of her friends. our teacher told us that "we would be practicing during advisory and to make sure to come prepared to submit a recording of our singing so it can be judged to see if we got in." We all submit our singing and got the results a week later we all got in! which excited me. We would have practice every Monday and have 3 practices during school, so we would ride the bus there.
during the bus ride, JJ asked me "Hayden do you like anybody" then what came to my mind was this was my chance to tell her I like her I said yes but what she said next broke me she said, "same I like Micheal, What about you who do you like?" I panicked when she asked me and said I liked one of my best friends Alex. that night I cried myself to sleep we went to the school we would rehearse and perform. during our visit, JJ and I explored the school, alone. during our exploration, we came across a room I thought if we were dating I would have kissed her in.
