As I slowly make my way down the long walkway, contemplating the colosal ship in front of me which I will be staying for a whole week, I think back to moments where I had imagined myself standing where I am now. The anxiety that had been accumulateibg inside my body since my parents told me that we were going on a cruise, quickly leaves my body as I run towards my cousin, arms outstreched, and we just start squealing and hugging and squealing some more. I can't believe we're actually here. Finally.
"Caroline, help your poor brother with the heavy stuff. He can't carry them on his own!" My mother shouts from behind the gigantic bag that covers almost all her body. She just can't stop dishing orders out to everybody. Can't she just stay quiet for a minute and appreciate where she will spend her holidays?! Never mind, so going back to the ship, this place is huge, and beautiful, and... AMAZING!
I ignore my mother's orders, and Stef and me start to walk faster, soon, we are on the ship. I approach my cousin, once more, and once again we start shouting and bumping each other like crazy lunatics, earning a few wide-eyed glances of people walking through the long corridors, probably trying to find their rooms, but we are too excited to notice. We have been waiting for this day for five months, that actually seemed like years.
"I can't believe we are finally here!" Stef shouts agitatedly as we enter our room. She hurriedly runs past me and throws herself on to the large white bed where we will be both sleeping for the next seven nights. Well, IF we actually do, but I don't think we'll be doing a lot of sleeping. On the ship, huge parties for people our age, and older, are held. EVERY night. And we will obviously be there. Every night. I can't even imagine what will happen in these parties or how Italian parties are. Still, knowing my cousin and how she gets after drinking alcohol, I am sure this will be fun. Great fun indeed.
Two teen girls, all on their own. In a place where they don't know anyone. And most importantly, with people they will never see again. Ever.
What better?
