Chapter 24 - Meeting your family

Jermaine POV

It feels like soon as I laid my head down in my own bed it was time to get it. I was exhausted from my five hour plane ride then it took me a hour to get home. I went to sleep at 6am now I'm up at 8am. My mother dragging the whole family to church, and I completely understand. It's a tradition and it's something we have had to do since birth. It's Easter Sunday.

"Daddy, I'm sleepy" Amir said and I turned around in my seat and gave him his jacket.

"Why? You didn't get sleep?"

"No because I stayed up cause I thought you were picking me up to come home" he spoke

"I didnt get home in till this morning, I couldn't have done that" I spoke "look after church we can go home and sleep because I didn't get sleep either"

I held Amir's hand as we walked in church. He was basically sleep walking and so was I. We found where my mother was and I hugged her and my grandmother. We hugged the whole family because everyone was here. We sat down and Amir sat next to me. He ended up falling asleep on my shoulder. I pulled him in my lap and laid him on my shoulder.

"He waited all night for you" my mother spoke "he wouldn't sleep"

"He told" I smirked

"That little boy loves you" she said "he kept talking about you and your girlfriend and how you guys were going go have fun once you came back"

"I can believe it" I smiled and she did too. She rubbed over his curls in his hair as we gave our attention to the Pastor.

After church I carried him to the car.

"Tell Grandma you see her for the Easter Egg hunt" I told Amir but she just kissed him on his head and he waved his hand.

"Grandma I can still play right?" I laughed leaning up against the car.

" Jermaine No!" she scrunched her face up "you ask me that every year"

"Just seeing if the answer would change" I laughed and she shook her head no.

"Look ya both need some rest so take him home and get some sleep" My mother said and my grandmother nodded her head. They kissed me and Amir.

"See you later Grace, Oscar, Blake, Josar, and the rest of ya" I laughed and grabbed on to their little heads as I walked pass. It was so many kids. I strapped Amir in his car seat then Grace watched him as I made sure my grandmother and mother got in the car and pulled off . I got in my car and pulled off.

I got us home in twenty minutes. I carried Amir out the car. Walked through the parking lot. I pressed the button for the elevator and then got on the elevator. Amir head was weighing down my shoulder. I chuckled to myself. We finally got to our floor and I walked in. Taking my shoes off and walking to my room. I put Amir in some night clothes and laid him down. I put on some chill clothes and climbed in the bed.

I turned around and closed my eyes. It was like a feeling of relief to finally close my eyes and have Amir home as well. Everything felt real comfortable and how it used to be.

"daddy?!" Amir said as he ran around the house with his boxer briefs on and a white wife beater. He chased Reno as he ran passed me I picked him up. We walked to my room.

"Wassup" I said

"We going to nana's house?" He said referring to my grandmother.

"Yes" I told him and he nodded with his socks in his hand.

"Put them on" I told him and he crawled on the bed and put them.

"We going to Teyana's house first" I told him and he became really excited.
