The sound of the bass thumped throughout the club—the music was so loud to the point the girls felt the vibrations in their chest. Holding on to her best friends hand, Maia and Raquel both pushed their way through the bodies of people that covered the dance floor. Maia followed until they both came to a stop in a booth located towards the back— that had a table in the center with a bucket filled with bottles. Looking around noticing the familiar face that sat in the section Maias lips turned up into a warm smile.

"Maia oh my goshh is that you" the tall, curved—dark girl walked up to Maia arms opened wide to engulf the girl in a hug.

"Angieeeee!!" Maia yelled trying to make her voice sound louder than the music but failing. Angie which was short for Angelina was one of Raquel's few friends who Maia grew fond of over time since the three did spend time working together not too long ago, Angie's energy always matched the two girls and she was known to be  a social butterfly—who loved getting out and making friends anywhere she went. When Maia went on her year hiatus, Angie and Raquel had been the ones who would go out together— the way she and Raquel used to before they became a group of three— they had almost always extended the invite to Maia but her situation always had her looking for a excuse.

"Girl I thought we would never get you out again" Angie stated while handing a clear class filled with a dark liquid over to Maia. Maia wasn't a fan of dark liquor due the fact that the drink would always put her on her ass the next day. But she did love the sexy feeling dark liquor gave her, as opposed to her normal choice of light which made her wild.

"Don't do her like that, I had her out all last week" Raquel retorted having Maia's back while taking a cup out of Angie's hands.

"Don't worry, Maia is slowly coming back" Maia smiled at both girls truly happy that her friends missed her presence. Maia threw her head back while holding her breathe taking the shot, letting the sting of alcohol run down her throat— leaving a burning yet warm sensation in her chest. Maia exhaled trying to get the disgusting taste of pennies out of her mouth but it lingered there dancing on her tongue. She scrunched her face up in disgust, both of her friends laughing at the sight.

"Fuck ya, you know I don't do straight shots" Maia laughed giving them the middle finger.

The three girls chilled in the section taking shot after shot—and smoking blunt after blunt, until they all were noticeably having a good time. Maia pulled her phone out to record— after hearing Angie yell that this was her song. Maia watched as Angie and Raquel made their way on top the leather couches— both moving their bottom half on beat to the song that blasted through the speakers.

"Okayyyy" Maia yelled amping them up, while the two girls continued to dance provocatively with each-other. A flash went off beside Maia on the couch, realizing happened to be Raquel's phone ringing. Looking at the caller ID she noticed who it was—answering for Raquel since she was clearly inebriated at the moment.

"Uh hello" Maia spoke into the phone— with her other hand pressed to her ear— her voice loud enough hoping the person could hear her over the music.

" hello ... Raquel?"

"No this is Maia, hey Chris"

"Hello?" He asked again, clearly he couldn't hear Maia over the loud music that played in the background, so she opted out of speaking on the phone— hanging up to text the guy for her, letting him know that Raquel was fine and with her.

Chris was Raquel's ex who cared a lot for her, even if they were apart like they were right now. Their relationship didn't end horribly, which explained why they still contacted one another. Chris was too much of a nice guy and Raquel grew to hate it as their relationship progressed, so she thought it would just be better if they were friends.
