CHAPTER TWELVE

BILLIE-HALES:
It's the day of the big game. I've just seen the games program booklet and. oh my god, Jax will literally kill me. Well, you see the other night you know when I was a little drunk? Sorry very, drunk. Well, I may have messed around with one of his headshots and... Oh, God!

"BILLIE! What the fuck did you do to my headshot?"
My body jumps a little feeling his voice boom through the stadium corridor. There's no one in yet. The stadium doesn't open until one o'clock, so it's pretty quiet around here.

"What, what do you mean?" I ask, oh so innocently. I'm faking that I don't know what he's talking about.

"You know damn well what I'm talking about!"
He practically slams the program in my hand while ordering me to open it to page five. He didn't need to tell me though, because I already know where it is. Even though I know it's there and I know I shouldn't, I still can't stop the grin that forms on my lips.

"Damn it, Billie! This isn't fucking funny! Not one bit! You've photo-shopped my head! How the fuck did you make my head look bald? And my beard... what the fuck! You've made me look like Hulk fucking Hogan! How did you do it? In fact. No, don't tell me!
For fuck's sake! Why did you do that? What the fuck made you do that?"
Aha! As if he didn't know!
"Well, for a start, it wasn't meant to be there. I may have accidentally sent it with the rest of the shots.
As for it being published? Well, you best go see old Johnny boy about that. I mean, he's the one in charge of what goes in those mags.
And as for, 'the why' well, you know why! It's because you humiliated me. Granted, I may have been a little intoxicated, but I was mad at you. So I may have photo-shopped your headshot. I did warn you that if you piss me off, I will get my revenge. But I swear this was an accident. I didn't mean for this to get in there."

I'm watching his reaction and I can see his face turning red. He's super pissed, but all I can do to stop myself from laughing is bite my lip.

"Fuck. Billie, you need to fix this shit!" I'm shaking my head telling him it's too late.
"Jax, all the mags they're already out ready to get sold. Well, people will come through the foyers now. So I can only imagine that they've sold a few already."

"FUCK!"
He's holding his hands in his dark hair, looking really mad now. I have to tell you, he looks pretty hot doing it too. I also notice he's wearing bike leather while holding a bike helmet.
Hmm, I didn't know that he could ride. Now I'm aware of how I'm checking him out. I know this because we're interrupted when I hear voices. When I look away I see kids, which made my body jump slightly.
Christ, I need him to calm down. Kids are walking around now and I don't want them to see him like this. He has quite a few young fans, so I'd hate for them to see him like this.

"Listen, Jax. I'm sorry, okay? I really didn't mean for this to happen. I was just messing about. Forgive me?"
I'm giving him my best puppy dog eyes. I'm waiting for him to say something only he falters. He doesn't know what to say. So I'm guessing that he was expecting a fight?

"Oh, come on. Lighten up Jax, it's not like it's the end of the world. By tomorrow, they'll have forgotten about it, trust me."
He's shaking his head and I can see that he's really not trusting my words.
"This better get, forgotten! I'm telling you, Billie, if this shit isn't, forgotten? You better make it up to me."

What the hell, make it up to him? With wide eyes, I ask him what he means. Then he shocks me again when he moves in closer. He's so close that I feel his cool breath as it brushes against my cheek.

"You'll make it up to me when you add me to this year's calendar. I know you've not picked me and I know why, but I want in. You get me on that calendar and I'll forget all about this shit."
