Waking up the next day felt like hell for Maia— she felt as her body ached all over as she stretched out her bones cracking from the action, her head pounded behind her eyes— urging her to keep them closed, not wanting the ordeal to be any worse then it already was if she peaked at the sun.

She laid there for a few seconds—lifeless— her chest rising and falling gently as she breathed, until a hand reach over stroking her arm softly. Recognizing the familiar touch Maia knew it could've only been Raquel, the girls had came in the night before— super drunk and too tired to take their clothes off, passing out in Raquels bed not even bothering to get under the sheets.

"Rock, Rock are you up?" Maia croaked out, her throat was severely dry—the words almost hurt to come out. For a second Raquel didn't answer making Maia believe she probably didn't ask loud enough. Mentally frowning at the thought of having to speak again, when her throat felt like a dried up pond that's never had the opportunity for rain to fill it's void— Maia decided on making a loud groan hoping to catch her attention.

"Maia shut the fuck up" She heard Raquel mutter, "my head is literally pounding" Raquel finished, her words dragging as the came out.

Understanding they were both experiencing the consequences from the night they had—Maia decided it was best to not respond. Instead she was battling whether she should fall back to sleep or get up and get water to satisfy her thirst. Getting up meant having to open her eyes and that alone gave her the answer.

She laid there in the silence trying to conjure up whatever saliva in her mouth she could create all while attempting to drift back off to sleep.

Maia was now waking up for the second time today. Her eyes shot open with the sudden smell of marijuana filling her nostrils, it blew her mind how easy it was for her to wake when there was weed involved.

Turning over on her side from her back, she was faced with Raquel passing her a blunt which look like she just rolled. "Rise and shine honey, wakey wakey let's get bakey" Raquel sung out to Maia— making her laugh as she exhaled the exhaust from her lungs.

The two smoked in silence for a while enjoying the satisfaction they both got from the herbs, Raquel broke the silence after a while, turning to look at Maia— after realizing she was day dreaming, "you staying?"

"Might as well" Maia replied glancing at the time on her phone screen. It was now four in the afternoon, the girls  had slept most of the day away but it didn't bother them. It was a Saturday and they both didn't have to work on weekends. So Maia thought staying at her besties houses didn't seem like a bad idea, and they always loved when the two of them got to have sleepovers—like they were little girls again.

"You know, I wonder why we still just don't live together?" Rock asked.

The question almost made Maia fall off the bed, clearly the weed was getting to her head she thought. As if she couldn't remember when the two of them used to be roomies for two years— throughout the four year time span they attended college.

"Rock don't piss me off, we literally used to live together for two years" Maia stated evidently annoyed that she didn't remember, "and you know why we can't room together, you're too bossy and you hated to hear me through the walls" Maia continued saying the last part quickly, hoping Raquel wouldn't remember the countless encounters she had with the woman she brought back to their dorm.

"Ew Maia, to hear your lesbian love in the next room" Raquel shuddered as if she was playing the memory in her mind.

"Don't do that, you know you want this lesbian loving" Maia said before blowing a kiss in her direction—Raquel scrunched her face in disgust as if she got a whiff of something awful.
