CHAPTER THIRTEEN

About twenty minutes later, I'm walking out of the stadium's foyer, making my way to my parent's car. It's while I'm still with thoughts of Jaxon.
He's got everyone thinking that I'm his angel, but why would he do this? I mean, he hasn't said shit to me, so why would he tell everyone else and not me first? Wait, unless it's a prank? What if this is another way to get back at me? I don't know. Maybe I'm just being stupid here, but he was pretty mean. Yes, I may have deserved some of that but he was so mean about it.
How can he go from that to being this perfect? I don't know, but I'm going to have to keep my wits about me, just in case. I need to protect myself here because Jaxon Colton could easily break me. He could break me and my heart.
As soon as I closed the back passenger door of my dad's truck my Grandad wraps his arm around my shoulder.

"You did real good today, sweetheart. I've never been more proud of you."
He ends that by placing a kiss on the top of my head. It makes me move closer to him, feeling pretty exhausted.

"Thanks, Grandad it was amazing, but now, I just really need a hot bath. I also need a very tall glass of Gin. I mean, especially now, with knowing now I have to sift through about a million and one-shots by tomorrow. So my evening is far from over."

Yep, you heard me, while everyone is back there, partying. I'll be at home, going through all those pictures I'd captured. I'll be sorting the good from the bad, but as always I have to see the horses first, you know before I can do any of that.
Nice, huh? Well, yeah, it is I've accepted that this is my life now. I'm doing this for my grand-pops, keeping his memory alive. That and because the farmhouse is my childhood. I guess one day I'd like it to be part of my own children's fondest memories too.

Later that evening, and after cleaning out the stables and feeding them I'd taken Star out. I'd taken her out for a quick run. She needed it just as much as I did. I know I have work to do still, but this right here we both need.

"Good girl I've missed this I've missed it so much. I mean, we used to do this a lot, but since I'm working now. Well, you know it's limited now. For which I'm sorry. I mean, I feel like I'm neglecting you all.
I know everyone helps out with taking you out when I can't, but it's just not the same. I mean, you're mine you're my baby. It should be me all the time, but hopefully, one day, I'll make my millions. Then I can retire and that's when I'll be with you, as much as we like."

She chuffs, bouncing her head up and down which made me, smile. So while she's taking us back to the house, I'm singing away. I'm once again singing another one of my favourite songs; Malibu by Miley.
While singing it, I'm watching the sun set. I'm now wishing I brought my camera. That is until I almost jump out of my skin when I hear a voice.

"You know, you have an amazing voice. It kinda has a sexy edge to it like, husky-sweet, you know?"
I'm looking at him while he's stood there just a few feet away from me looking as beautiful as ever.

"W-what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be out like partying somewhere or something?"
He's grinning while shaking his head telling me he has all the time in the world to do that.

"Tonight, I wanted to be here with you. I mean, it's taken some time in finding you, but I finally did. So I'm here I'm finally here I'm home. I've come home to my Angel."
My stomach danced. It's going crazy while my heart threatens to burst free. For the first time in weeks, I'm smiling.

"You know people will talk, they'll say that I've stolen you away from them. They'll say I'm like Yoko I'll split the band up. I mean, look where you are now you're here when you should be with them partying."
He's tilting his head with a small grin on his lips.
