A girl of Asian decent was sitting in a filthy musty iron cell. Chains around her wrists, ankles and even one around her neck. Her ebony hair matted in all places and some strands stuck to her forehead. Her once pristine clothes now rags and littered red with blood from when she fought back.

Sitting in the corner with her back to the wall, she looked to be unconscious or at least bleary. When in actuality she's completely alert and aware, preparing for the next guard shift to change and her next meal to come.

She was a warlock, or a witch whatever term you prefer, that's been stuck in the lousy cell for almost 6 months. Granted she's a strong exceptional warlock they trapped her and disabled her magic temporarily so they could run experiments on her. Valentine Morgenstern. The bloody bastard. He had been trying to transfer her magic to other shadow hunters he had created.

She was tired, exhausted even. Having no contact with the outside world and nothing to do all day everyday but get her blood taken and injections shot into her didn't do much for her health. That's not even mentioning how little food they fed her and how the water tasted so weird its almost like it's been filtered over a thousand times.

The girl just wanted to get out and be reunited with her brother. It had been awhile since anyone was able to get the jump on her and she regrets not looking over her shoulder that one time.

She has heard whispers about the bastards son being on board the ship and joined his ranks. She'd never seen him herself but knew he was somehow her chance at getting off the damn boat.

The cell door busted open. What, no knock? No manners these people, I swear. A guard with a pathetic looking tray of food in hand walked over to the woman on the ground. He looked at her what seemed limp body and threw the tray by her feet making a clattering sound.

"Meal time. Eat up warlock." The guard spat at her, the word warlock coming out as if it was an insult in itself.

Her eyes barely opened to look at the spilled food contents and stray tray on the floor. After looking at it she just closed her eyes back up not giving the food another thought. The guard scoffed and turned around to walk out of the cell while mumbling something along the lines of ungrateful bitch.

The way they had been suppressing her magic was by putting something in her food. Lucky for her this guard either didn't get the memo or he's incompetent because he hadn't been force feeding her like the rest of them. For the past four days straight she hadn't taken a single bite. She felt her magic slowly returning but it was never enough to escape, until now that is.

On his way out he wasn't looking in her direction just the door he was about to lock. How foolish of him. A barely noticed green wisp came out the tips of her fingers and traveled to the door. As the guard locked the door the green wisp touched the locking mechanism causing the lock not to be set in place.

The guard was none the wiser and continued on down the hallway leading his way to the deck. The girl waited until his footsteps were completely gone and suddenly opened her eyes. She sat up and snapped her fingers to make all of the chains drop from her frame.

Her now noticeable eyes were ones like those of a cat but had the colors green and yellow swirling in them. Those eyes were looking straight at the lock which had a faint green glow to it. She walked towards the door and with a flick of her hand it swung open.

Stepping out she looked in the direction the guard had walked off, paused, then pivoted her foot to face the opposite direction and started walking. She sensed there was another warlock on board and that there was a protective spell surrounding the vessel.

Just one more reason to be careful in this gastly excuse of a boat.

Her footsteps were kept light, well as light as they could be on a creaky swaying boat, and traveled down the long hallway. Once reaching a door she peeked through a small sliver to take in her new environment.

There seemed to be a ruckus, people were running around and other shouting commands. She looked to see a red head, Clary Fairchild, and two blondes, Jace and Cameron Wayland or more recently Morgenstern, running towards the edge of the boat with the warlock she had sensed earlier on.

All of a sudden she felt the protective ward surrounding the boat come down and the duo jumped over the side of the boat. You know, that's good enough for me. With a quick shrug to go along with her thoughts she shot out of the door and made a b-line towards the nearest edge of the boat.

As she was falling she tried to make a portal but the green wisps around her hands flickered because of how weak and malnourished she truly was. Due to this she smacked right into the water and blacked out in the process, but not before making eye contact with a certain blonde.

On some beach somewhere

Her eyes fluttered open and she saw she was face down washed up on some beach somewhere she had no idea. Slowly she put her hands underneath her and pushed herself up onto her knees.

She could feel how upset her body was at her, stomaching rumbling in need of food, mouth feeling dryer than a desert, chapped lips that were more cracked than her dignity at the moment, and her hair in worse conditions than a birds nest.

She looked at her hands and tried to create another portal but like the last time the green wisps flickered and no portal was created.

Fucking mother-fuck you, stupid magic. Stupid bloody bastard.

The girl curses a storm inside her head and looks up to see what direction she should go in. Nothing was familiar so she set off in a random direction towards the shore.

After walking for what felt like hours and there was still nothing worth stopping at. Until a run down looking restaurant came into view at last. Once she laid her eyes on it her slow pace quickened to a slight desperate hobble.

Pushing open the door it seemed the building was abandoned. Just to make sure she looked through everything to see if there was something that could help her. She found a tap and greedily drank as much as she could.

Taking another look around she couldn't find anything else helpful. Taking a seat on the ground and leaning on the farthest wall from the door the girl waved her hands over her body. Green wisps came and swept over her body at an excruciatingly slow pace. The healing process took longer than she first intended it to and required much more energy than she anticipated.

Due to the strain she passed out on the ground of the building. Time passed by and she wasn't aware how much time had passed. When she woke up she moved towards the tap again and drank more water. Her stomach was still screaming at her but she pushed the thought out of her head.

Attempting to try and create a portal again she raised her hand and the green magic returned. It was still weak but stronger than what it had previously been. The portal opened but didn't seem entirely stable. Fuck this, I'm going whether I make it or not.

The girl jumped through the portal and landed in a familiar apartment. The apartment she had been longing to be in for the 6 months she was away. The apartment that had brought her great comfort. The apartment that belonged to her brother. Her brother, Magnus Bane.
