**Please know that this is only my opinion, I'm not saying everyone thinks this or whatever. this is just mine :)

The plot was completely messed up and definitely changed a LOT between the Percy Jackson books and movies (and not much of it good).

First of all, I'd like to be clear that I do not think that any of this was the actor's fault. They were actually for the most part really good actors, just not the right ones for the roles they were given. I believe that they were pulled into a mess, and they couldn't have had that big an influence on the plot. I blame the screenwriters for that. As for the director, Chris Columbus, I think that it wasn't entirely his fault either, and although it definitely isn't his best movie, he did what he could with what he was given. Chris Columbus is actually one of my favorite directors in general- I mean, not that I know of many.

If the movie wasn't linked to the books I might actually have enjoyed it somewhat, but since it was... dam(n) it hurts.

Chris Columbus did a really good job with the Harry Potter movies, so good that I enjoyed them when I was six/seven years old. Although the Harry Potter movies have many differences from the books that some I definitely think could've been avoided, he overall did a really nice job recreating the magical world into a live-action movie. A few other movies (though certainly not all) he directed were The Help and Adventures in Babysitting. He directed the first three Harry Potter movies, and the first one of two Percy Jackson movies. I do think that while the screenwriters are mainly at fault for this, the director should take part blame, even after everything I've said.

Now, about the actors...
