Part 2: Dunking Dates

Ahh! It's finally the day to see if I'm on the team or not. I looked on the list on the bulletin board and didn't see my name. Huh weird. After school I went to talk to Coach Terry. "I'm sorry kid but I don't think I can let you on the team",he said slowly. "What?! Why not?" I said in shock. "You're a girl and I can't let a girl on a team full of boys plus your a girl." he told me. "But I worked so hard,please give me one more chance." I pleaded. "I'll reconsider kid,now if you don't mind I have to make arrangements". I walked away silently and devastated.I drive home and was mad at myself. 'Gosh I am so dumb for not practicing enough,I thought I was pretty okay,guess not'. I thought that to myself.
But on the bright side I had a date with Nick.
Woo hoo that was the best part! I went home,took a shower and put on an outfit which was black skinny jeans with a white crop top and for my shoes I put on my Toro 4s.And I applied a little make up. He picked me up In a black Range Rover. Omg that's my dream car. "Hey beautiful" him greeting me while I stepped into the car, "Well hello mister" I greeted him back. He doesn't look like he was dressed for something. "Why on earth do you have basketball shorts on?" I asked confusingly. "You'll see" he said grinning.
We drove for probably 30 mins until we came to this area with a lake and a beautiful basketball court with lights all around it. "Woah I did not expect this" I gasped. "I knew you would like it" he said smiling with his dimples. "Let's play" he shouted excitedly. "But I'm not ready" I said. "Don't worry,i bet you can play in those clothes"
I smiled.
We ended up playing the whole evening and he dunked on me a couple of times.But his defense was like a child's. I was way better at defense by the way. After that he drove me home and before I went in a thanked him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Goodnight Gorgeous" he whispered. I gave him a smile and walked into my house.
