The Underground

Chapter Two

"Keeyan." The older man, Caleb, says, looking at his son inquisitively. "I'm trying dad, I promise I am trying." He sighs, holding his head in his hands.

He was beyond tired at this point. It seemed that his caramel eyes were constantly lined with a deep purple these days.

"This is serious Keeyan." The man sighs. "This is Aurora Dixon we are talking about here. The prodigy child of the agency. We can't let them get her. Every single night they have been trying." He adds.

"I know. I can't keep going in and saving her all the time. It takes a lot of energy to enter her dreams." Keeyan sighs.

"You're the only one who can save her son, you know that." The man reminds.

"I know, I know. But can't we just track her? We can get Emery to go find her. It would be easier to protect her if she were really here." He states.

"You know that Kristopher and Sage didn't want that for her. They died protecting her, why do you think they sent her away?" Caleb reminds.

"But this is different. She isn't safe anywhere anymore." Keeyan reminds.

"I know, maybe you're right Keeyan." Caleb sighs. "Do you want me to talk to Emery?" He asks.

"Yes. But you would need to go with him. She would need to know we aren't crazy. Rest up, you will have a lot of explaining to do." Caleb says, patting his son on the back before leaving his room.

Keeyan sighs, thinking back to when he was a kid. When Aurora was born he was 2 years old.

Many kids were born in The Underground back then, but her birth was special.

Her parents, Sage and Kristopher, were kind of the royal family of The Underground. Everyone loved them. Their ancestors were the original members of this organization.

When Aurora was born a party was thrown. The biggest party that anyone who lived there could remember.

Even at only two years old Keeyan can remember all the pink decorations that lined the walls. The room was piled sky high with presents for the little angel.

He was told she was such a smiley little baby, the most beautiful baby anyone had ever seen.

Word got around fast about the little baby. With in a year of her birth she had a bounty on her head. A poor, innocent baby who had yet to say her first word was in the danger of dying.

She was assigned her own personal body guard who wasn't supposed to keep her out of their sight. He was a young man named Dawson Fisher.

One day though, it all went down hill. Sage and Kristopher were taking her out one day when they got attacked.

Little Aurora was in her stroller and Fisher was pushing her when the bounty hunter appeared.

Sage and Kristopher told Fisher to run, to take their angel far away from here. Neither of them were ever seen again.

Fisher and Aurora are still missing to this day. Though no one dare try to find them, everyone knew they were not safe.

Caleb and Maya, Keeyan's parents, were elected until Aurora was found. The day she comes back here she shall be in charge of the organization, as it was meant to be from the beginning.

Keeyan has been one of the most gifted children The Underground had ever seen. Ever since he was a kid he has these miraculous abilities.

Everyone in The Underground had special abilities. Abilities that made it necessary to seclude themselves from the rest of man kind.

Supernatural abilities that originated from a group of Salem "witches". These "witches" were quite different from witches as they have been known in popular culture.

These "witches" were very gifted. They developed abilities such as tracking, telekinesis, psychic abilities, and even bizarre gifts, such as dream manipulation.

The government decided that the world wasn't ready to be exposed to such abilities, and the entire clan was banished to The Underground. A complex set of tunnels that lie under Earth.

Though in this day and age, they are sent into hiding. Many scientists want to do experiments on the people of The Underground, to see why they possess these abilities.

Bounty hunters are out there to collect as many as they can, none of them are ever safe. Especially Aurora. She has the most direct blood line, she is a direct descent of the most powerful member, Matilda Dixon.

As her existence becomes known, she becomes more in danger, causing people like Keeyan to be sent to save her.

He has always been the bravest of the Underlings. But this would be the hardest journey he would ever face. Though for the princess, all would be worth it.
