Dark. All he could see was dark. Standing in front of his mother's tomb 'Betty Amelia Spring, 1993-2022, a beautiful lady with a beautiful heart'. He didn't realize that he was sobbing a pair of arms trapped him in a hug. "It's okay Charlie you tried, you tried your best, it's not your mistake" said Olivia trying her best to comfort a sobbing Charlie. "No I should have chosen mom, I knew what she was going through but I ignored it. I was nothing but a horrible son to her", his sobbing continued.
That's how Charlie's day went crying his eyes out. Now they were at the dining table having their dinner in utter silence, when suddenly Charlie spoke "time won't fly it's like I'm paralyzed by it. I want to forget but I cannot forget it, the guilt is eating me of not choosing mom." "Char-"Olivia was cut off by the doorbell.
Olivia stood at the door shocked to see the person at the door, "who is at the door Liv", spoke Charlie across the living room. The man walked past Olivia and went to face Charlie. "You should leave" said Charlie without a second thought. "Son let me explain myself" spoke Charlie's dad. "EXPLAIN WHAT?!, spoke Charlie with anger "ABOUT HOW YOU BROKE ME FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE? HOW YOU ABUSED MOM MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY?! HOW BECAUSE OF YOU MOM IS DEAD NOW?! WHAT DO YOU WANNA EXPLAIN MR. JAMES SPRING?!?"
"I'm sorry for all I did" his father said not meeting his eyes. "I wish that you would stay in memories but you show up today just to ruin things" spoke Charlie with a small chuckle. "I will leave" said his dad waiting for a response but left when he didn't get one.
"Charlie promise me, you will never blame this all on you no matter what, I love you, mom loves you and I know mom is proud of you, believe me she is" spoke Olivia. To which Charlie just said "You know what Olivia, I should have never sat in the fence".
