(Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! Enjoy my take on The Santa Clauses. Sorry if some parts feel rush or sloppy, I really wanted to get this done before Christmas for the guys. Enjoy!)
Christmas Eve of 1994, the night my life turn upside down. Before that night I was a cranky seventeen year older, anxiously awaiting to graduate and go off to college, leaving my neglectful father and annoying half brother forever.
But after Santa fell off our roof, everything changed. Dad put on the coat and I put on a funny looking elf hat as a joke, next thing I know were at the North Pole where I met my husband, Bernard.
From January to November, Bernard would visit me at home to teach me how to be an elf but as we got closer he started seeing more and more just spend time with me. We really look liking to each other and on Christmas Eve we shared our first kiss and became a couple.
A lot of crazy shenanigans happen throughout the years, but the most important one to mention is Bernard I got married sometime after my Dad married Carol Newman.
A few years later we each had a baby. Dad and Carol had Buddy... well he goes by his nickname Cal now. Anyway, Bernard and I also had a baby, Clementine who's half human and half elf... or maybe mostly human and a little bit of elf. We're not entirely sure, but she's our daughter and we love her.
Dad and Carol also had another baby a year later, a daughter they name Sandra, who looks suspiciously just like the daughter of a certain iconic american actor.
So Dad now has four kids, me being the oldest, then Charlie, then Cal, and finally Sandra. Two boys and two girls, if he ends up having two more we'll be the Brady Bunch.
One mistake is really all it takes to change everything. I couldn't have possibly imagine, 28 years ago I'd be where I am today, but I'm so thankful for that night.
Dad and I are like two peas in a pod, I have a wonderful husband and daughter. Everything just feels so perfect, like nothing can go wrong.
"Woo-hoo! Ho! Ho! Ho!" Dad exclaimed, the sleigh bells jingling as we fly to our next stop on the night. "Ooh! How about we buzz the Statue of Liberty?" Noel suggested, sitting in the back of the sleigh.
"Great idea, Noel. But first, cruller me!" Dad said, Noel smiles and aims his launcher at the air. He fires and a cruller goes flying into the air. "Hyan!" Dad yelled, hitting the reins and making the reindeer fly after the pastry treat.
Dad opens his mouth wide and the cruller falls right into his mouth. "Mmm!" Dad hummed, biting down and pulling the cruller away from his mouth. "Yes!" Noel cheered as all of us laugh.
"That never gets old." I said. "Delightful!" Noel said. "Yeah, that's good!" Dad said, finishing his treat. "Where to next, Little Helper?" He asked, with his mouth full.
"Noel." I said, turning in my seat. The little elf grins as he took out the list and handed it over to me. "Thank you." I said, turning back in my seat. "You're welcome, Little Helper." Noel said, cheerfully.
I skim through the list and frown when I saw were almost done already. "This can't be the whole list. This is getting shorter every year. What's going on?" I asked, looking over my shoulder at Noel, who shrugs clueless.
"Hold on." Dad said, pulling the sleigh off to the side and landing up on a familiar rooftop. "What are we doing here? This house isn't on the list." Noel said. "That's gotta be some sort of mistake. This is always one of (Name) and I's favorite stops." Scott said, smiling as a reminisce look on his face.
"You know, what? We're gonna find out why this house isn't on the list." Dad said, standing up. "Dad it's been 28 years, she grew up." I pointed out. "But she still believes in Santa, and we deliver to everyone who believes in me." Dad said, proudly.
