I have gone by many names, but for this story I am the Watcher. I am a cosmic being assigned to observe the countless universes to bear witness to all possibilities of anywhere between a single university to one one the vast Multiverse's. Today we shall do just that.
You'd think that superpowers would be nothing more than fiction, but in this world, they not only exist, but almost everyone has a superpower, or "quirk" as everyone has come to know them.
With the rise of quirks, the population would label your quirk type, the different types being:
•Villainous (quirks that are more commonly used by villians or are used with any kind of malicious intent e.g. Brainwashing.)
•Strong (the definition of what a strong quirk is is rather broad, but is mostly associated with giving the person using it a boost of some kind e.g. Strength Enhancement)
•Flashy (quirks that are attention grabbing and can be considered obvious depending on either physical changes or the manner in which the quirk requires usage e.g. Explosion)
•Weak (these quirks typically seem to not grant any obvious bizarre abilities, or grant a power that some would say leave much to be desired e.g. Tail)
•Mutation (there are 2 types of mutation quirks, all involve some kind of physical change. There are some that only have the person receive a physical change, while the more common type has people gain an ability on top of the physical changes, sometimes the changes are to accommodate for the ability e.g. Rabbit)
•Hybrid (a rare occurrence. Mainly when someone is born with or develops a quirk that is a version of the both of parents quirks, while still not being a combination of the 2 e.g. Half-Hot Half-Cold)
•Mutant (another rare occurrence. This is when someone is born with a quirk that has no connection to their family, present and previous. This means that they have a unique quirk e.g. Rewind)
Due to the increase in numbers of individuals developing and misusing their quirks the governments of the world had implemented a government sponsored and highly trained group of individuals that had been given the titles of "Pro-Heroes". Majority of the governments of the world had also implemented and enforced a law that prevents unlicensed individuals from using their quirks out in public with a penalty of time spent in prison.
To continue having Pro-Heroes that would combat those who would misuse their quirks, dubbed "villians", schools that would teach young adults how to be heroes as well as proper quirk usage had been started. Most high schools throughout the world had developed "introductory hero courses" so as to prepare the students the hero schools of their choice.
While most hero schools had similar qualities to one another, there is one hero school that many strive to attend, due to it's reputation, that being U.A. University. The school had always had a reputation for having more funding and other resources compared to it's competitors, so for many it was always a top-tier hero school to attend. It wasn't until 30 years, give or take, that U.A. had stood above it's competitors due to having the current No. #1 Hero, All Might, graduate from their school.
This had unfortunately caused other hero schools to fall into obscurity and eventually shut down due to lack of funding and government support, greatly decreasing the number of heroes to deal with villians and other crimes, mainly within Japan.
Despite almost everyone has a quirk, there are some who don't have one. They've been labelled as "quirkless". The quirkless make up close to 20% of the population with some areas having more quirkless people than others. An example of this being America and Japan. Japan is often considered to be the gold mine of quirks, mainly due to the aforementioned U.A. mainly pumping out heroes with strong; flashy and versatile quirks, with All Might being Japan's poster boy. Majority of the Japanese population consists of quirked people, with only one registered quirkless person. America on the other hand had a more spread out and even population of both quirked and quirkless people, with quirkless people taking up 47% of the population and the remaining quirked population having a spread out variety of quirks types.
Due to this ,America; while still being considered a quirk gold mine; is often never brought up in conversations or discussions about strong quirks because unlike other countries, they don't have a specific focus on strong quirk, as well as having the highest numbers of registered quirkless people.
With all that exposition dumped you'd probably be thinking that this story would revolve around one of the many upon many quirked individuals, an individual with unlimited potential or even the mightiest of such. Well... you'd be wrong. We're actually here to bear witness to someone who was seen as so weak that within the original universe he had faced constant ridicule before eventually being given a chance at greatest by his idol, a story that had spawned countless universes; dimensions and timelines that all branch off of this one universe.
Today, we watch a version of the story where despite having a much happier upbringing, he would still face constant challenges, hardships and even tests of will. We are here to react to the variant of one of the greatest heroes to ever exist within all of this multiverse.
Behold, this is the story of Izuku Midoriya.
