Now:
"Even Aiden is more tolerable than you," I heard Raven say as I took a seat beside her, putting my tray of lunch on the table.
The remark or insult, if I dare say, was directed towards Ashton. Another eventful lunch break, similar to the ones we used to have back in high school.
"You bet," Ashton waved her off, putting fries in his mouth. Raven rolled her eyes at him. I smiled at their playful exchange as I drank water from my bottle. I adored their duo. Irritating or not, I found this cute. Youngsters full of life. I sounded like a grandma there. I smiled to myself and dug into my meal. I was brought out of my hilarious thoughts as I felt a burning gaze on myself. My eyes, as if having a mind of their own, moved to look at the figure sitting across from me. My eyes widened slightly when I noticed him. I had almsot forgot about him sitting with us. I straightened up a bit as I looked at his stoic face. Sebastian was staring at me with an expression I could not pin point, but it still managed to make my stomach twist in a bad way.
Before I could stop myself, I lifted an eye brow, questioning his action. The guy had some nerve because he did not bother to look away or apologize. I scoffed at his rudeness. Ashton and Raven had not noticed the exchange as they were now discussing the movie they had seen last week. After a while of me looking at Sebastian, the gazing had turned into a full on staring contest; none of us willing to look away. I had not even had a proper conversation with the dude and I already knew that I disliked him.
"Seb, you remember that guy from Johnson's party?," Ashton's sudden question forced Sebastian to avert his gaze. Parties were not my scene so I had no idea who the hell Johnson was.
"Lucas?," Seb asked.
Ashton nodded, "Yes. He agreed to help with the-" he paused, "-uh,the project; but he has some- uh- questions. I think he is reliable that is why I asked him to meet you after you finsh today." Huh? They were already getting projects? And here I thought the first month was going to be easy. I sighed.
"When?," was all Sebastian said. A man of few words, I see.
"Around 4pm, I think," Raven said looking at her phone.
I assumed Lucas was some mutual friend they had. I had never heard of him before. How come? I shook my head and looked at my wrist watch noticing it was already quarter to three. The bell rang just then, indicating lunch break would be over in 10 minutes. Which meant I had only five minutes to get my things from my locker and go to the library. My last class was free as the teacher was on maternity leave. I had to leave early as the teachers did not like students walking in the hallways during classes.
I looked around the table to see the trio still busy talking. Not wanting to interrupt them, I got up; accidently knocking off my now empty water bottle during the process.
Vey smooth, Sienna.
"Erm, sorry," I laughed, slightly embarrassed. I looked up to find the three pairs of eyes gazing at me.
"Such a klutz," Ashton grinned. Leave it to this guy to make things awkward.
Considering the stranger sitting at our table, I could not help but get a little self-conscious. Ashton's stupid smile was not helping with the situation. Rolling my eyes at him, I turned towards Raven.
"I am heading towards the library," silently asking her if she wanted to join.
"I don't think I can join you, Sie," she said.
"Alright, see you guys tomorrow," I said, picking up the bottle and tray as I turned to walk away.
"Bye, Enna," Ashton yelled from behind as I walked out of the cafè after throwing the tray and bottle in the bin.
