Finding the walls of the hallway suddenly growing and nearly doubling in size, I slam my eyes shut and place a hand over my rapidly beating heart in an attempt to slow my rapid breathing.

"[Y/N]?" a semi-familiar voice pipes up, each enunciation of my name heavy with a certain calm worry. It provides my mind a moment of clarity for just a moment.

"Orlin!" I rasp out albeit bashfully, cheeks warming up and slowly turning begonia red akin to an ovens stovetop.

"Are you okay?" Orlin then lowers his tone, voice raspy as the light reflect off of the balding spots atop his head.

"Y — yeah ..." I stutter, gulping as I take a step, nearly pressing myself up against the wall in the process.

A surge of emotions flash on the tan males flushed face, and before I can think about anything other than his plump pink lips, Orlin leans forwards and closes the space between us.

His chaste kiss leaves my lips tingling, my skin electric and wishing for his touch.

"I'm sorry. I think it's best if you leave." Orlin suddenly speaks up, and I immediately grasp onto his hands. "Nikolas doesn't have to know Orlin, we can keep this between you and I." I promise, pleading with the larger man.

"No. I'll tell Nik that you had to go home because of a stomach issue. Leave. Now."

Scoffing, I send one last frustration-filled flare towards Orlin as I spin on my heel, nearly making a beeline towards the front door as hot tears begin to pool in my eyes.

Attempting to unlock my phone through blurry vision, I open the phone app and click on a contact I haven't touched in almost a year now.

"Kadie?" I sniff, getting into the drivers side of my car and slamming the door. "I know we broke up last year because I wouldn't go vegan for you, but I really need you right now." I sob into the speaker of my cellphone, my chest constricting as I lay my forehead against the top of my steering wheel.

"Only on one condition, [Y/N]." Kadie sighs through the speakers, "Promise me you haven't ate meat in the past month."

Guilt riddling my shoulders once more, I swallow my pride and openly lie to the only source of physical touch and genuine love. "I promise you I've only been eating fruitarian and vegetarian meals, Kadie."

"Come over right away, [Y/N]." and with that, my ex-vegan mistress hangs up, leaving me to recuperate from my sudden sobfest.

I'll deal with the fallout from Nik and Orlin tomorrow, I ultimately decide, inserting my keys into the ignition and speeding out of the parking lot of Nikolas and Orlins condominium.
