Remember You Must Die

Three knocks were heard at the door of doctor Bennard's new house, she was sitting in the couch at the living room at that moment, the kids were already in bed sleeping, the knocking got her scared because only a few people knew of her house and also it was already dark, she pulled the drawer of the small table that was in front  of her, and inside the drawer was a small revolver with eight rounds of bullets, she got up from the couch and went at the door, she took a peek outside through a peephole at the door to see who was knocking at the door, she saw there was a man standing outside, soon as she saw his face she suddenly got comfortable and opened the locks to the door to let him in, there were six locks that were locking the door, proof of just how she was afraid of the question mark, she finally opened the door and let the man in, "come in" she said while holding the door, once the man entered the house she looked around outside to see if he was being followed, "how have you been" asked the man as he took off his coat and threw it in the couch, she quickly went straight and gave him a big tight hug, "that bad huh" said the man as he hugged her back,
"I've missed you James" she said, her eyes so watery, tears were about to start pouring from her eyes
"I know, what kind sister wouldn't miss their big brother" said the man as he slowly massaged her back while they were still hugging,
"Did you bring what I asked for" she asked as she slowly pulled away from the hug
"Oh yeah" he replied and reached for his coat in the couch, there he pulled out a small box from the pocket and gave it to her, she opened the box and inside were new identity cards and a small case of contact lenses, "I don't know why you needed contact lenses but I brought them as you asked" said James
"So I am Grace now" she asked while holding her new identity card from the box
"Yeah, you don't like it" James replied
"No, no it's good I like it" she replied and put back the card inside the box,
"Am sorry I can't stay for long I have to leave" said James and then he took his coat from the couch and put it on
"Where you going" asked doctor Bennard
"Your not the only person who need their items delivered" he replied as he was already heading for the door, "I'll come back tomorrow, I've got to see my nephew it's been so long" he added as he turned around and touched her chicks, he then turned around and left the house,
"Ok sure" she replied and then locked the door behind him, she then went and took out the case of contact lenses from box, she went upstairs in Forty eight's room, there she found her still asleep in bed, she went ahead and woke her up from her sleep, when she woke up her eyes were still blue just like yesterday, she took out the contact lenses from their case and put them on her eyes, then her eyes looked as normal person's eyes should be, "how do you feel " asked doctor Bennard with her arm on the Forty eight's chick, her mouth was so heavy to give a reply cause she didn't know much about speaking English but in the end she replied "good" while looking at doctor Bennard's eyes,
"C'mon let's go" said doctor Bennard as she took the girls hand to get her out of bed, she took her back to the lab for a few more experiments that she had to run, she wanted to know what more effects did the serum Overdrenaline have on her body, so far what she knew was an increase in strength and increase in secretion of adrenaline in the body, Inside the lab she put Forty eight in a glass box to study her latest vitals.
That night Henry was sure that there was no way the killer is going to get through them without being caught, Claire had finished picking her six men to go inside with and protect Mr. Dion, she came back to Mr. Dion and told him that he needed to open the door so they could go in,  so her, Mr. Dion, together with his two new bodyguards walked towards the front door and Mr. Dion opened the door, together they went inside and turned on the lights, soon as the lights were turned on  they saw a woman in a mask sitting in the couch and next to her was a white Marshmello helmet, they all got alarmed and pulled out their fire arms ready to shoot her,
"Am sure you not going to shoot a guilty person who is ready to come with you willingly" she said as she got off the couch and put her arms in front ready for her to be cuffed, Claire was so shocked and couldn't believe what was happening, she had a lot of questions running through her mind at that moment, she took a moment to think about what she was saying and then she and then came up with a decision,
"Put your guns down" said Claire as she reached the cuffs in her back pocket, she took out the cuffs and started moving towards her slowly so as to cuff her, when she got a little bit closer to her, the woman in a mask clapped her hands twice and lights went out, Mr. Dion panicked and he had no other choice but to run outside while screaming, he ran so quickly out of the house and passed behind Henry who was talking to other officers who were there for protection, Henry was confused to see Mr. Dion running away from the house, he quickly realized that the killer was inside the house, so he quickly turned around and went back to the house while Mr. Dion got in the car and told his driver to drive away from there fast, Henry walked slowly and carefully as he got closer to the house with his gun in his right hand, all of the officers outside came to back him up just In case the person they were after is armed, when he opened the door the lights turned back on, he saw all of the six men and Claire were lying down on the floor knocked out cold, he went and checked Claire's neck for a pulse and saw she was still alive and breathing, he quickly ran outside and when looked on his left facing the gate at the entrance of the house he saw the woman on a motorcycle, they glanced eyes at each other for a few seconds and the woman flipped down the windshield of her motorcycle helmet and drove away, she started chasing at Mr. Dion's car that was already far from the house, Henry also took one of the cars in the house and chased after the woman, the woman drove her motorcycle so fast that she caught up to Me. Dion's car, she drove next to them for couple of seconds, when Mr. Dion looked outside the window and saw someone in a motorcycle was driving next to them he got shocked and scared, "speed up" he shouted at the driver while tapping him by his shoulder, the woman the lowered the speed of her motorcycle and drove behind them, she took out a small remote from her pocket and pressed the button, the round object that was placed by the thief the other day started giving off a green dim light, Mr. Dion's car lost control and it started speeding up, the brakes and the stirring couldn't work anymore, the driver tried the brakes a couple of times but still failed, he saw there was definitely going to be an accident so he saved himself by jumping out of the car while it was on the move, Mr. Dion was left alone iniside the car, the woman took a left on the next road, Mr. Dion's car crushed into the back of big truck on the road, and a big explosion occurred causing a big accident on the road, Henry saw the explosion happen but he took the same road as the woman went, he was so determined to catch the woman in the  black mask although she had left him quite a distance,  he was behind her driving so fast trying to catch up on her, she drove and entered one of the main roads in the city, the road was leading her to a junction connecting four roads, each road had a crosswalk leaving an empty site on the center of the roads, before she reached the junction suddenly a truck came from another road totally blocking her way, but luckily the truck tires were too big, big enough that they created a bit of height under the truck for her to pass through, so she crouched highly enough to make sure she passed below the truck, Henry had to hit the breaks to avoid hitting the truck at the side, he was left with no other choice but to wait for the truck to pass through, missing his window to catch the woman, the woman used the truck as a perfect opportunity for her to disappear, when the truck had passed what Henry saw was an empty road, the woman had already disappeared, so angry Henry hit the stirring wheel three time while screaming, he had to calm his anger down by controlling his breathing, he had his hand the stirring wheel griping it tight, and just when he was about to turn the car around he saw an ambulance coming his way, he looked at it till it got past him, "Mr. Dion" he said realizing that he saw him in an accident, he then turned around his car around following the ambulance, the ambulance drove till  reached where the accident happened  he was just following from behind, once he reached there he found the people of the ambulance helping the driver of the truck meanwhile there was a small car behind the truck that was on fire, he got out of his car and went to give a look at the car and saw a burnt corpse, the person in there was completely burnt that it was hard to tell who it was, he took out his phone and dialed Lucy, "hey" he said as soon as she picked up, "we're screwed" he added after Lucy's reply. Next morning Henry gathered everyone at the investigation room to discuss their next move on the killer, everyone was there except for Claire who was still recovering from yesterday's beating, the discussion was also looking on past events like that of yesterday,
"Thanks to Mr. Dion we now know that the killer is a woman" he said with his hands on the table,
"You saw her" asked Lucy, she was  a little bit surprised
"Yeah, and she was scary" he said
"She was also strong and fast" said Claire as she entered the room, "am talking more than human strong, this one was different" she added as she closed the door behind her
"Claire, I thought I gave you a day off to recover" said Henry so shocked to see Claire back at the station again
"Not when there is a killer on the loose" she replied and took a seat the table, "so what's the plan" she added
"We didn't do well with Mr. Dion, so let's not fail on the next victim" said Henry as he desperately looked into their eyes, "Mary and Lucy, I want you to figure out who the next victim" he added while pointing them, " Claire you are still weak, so I'll give you the simplest job of all, finish looking where Mr. Dion's stolen money went" He continued
"And what are you going to do" asked Lucy
"Great question" he replied and took a little pause, he then got off the table and turned around "just the hardest job of them all, delivering the news to Mr. Dion's family" he replied facing away from them, suddenly all their faces were down and sad, they felt mercy for the family he had left behind, cause he left them with nothing, not a single penny was left in his account and he hadn't yet told his family. Henry on his way out of the station he took a detour and went to Mike's office, "hey Mike have you finished fixing the scrambled video already" said Henry with the door opened behind him, "yeah just a sec" he replied and started searching around his desk, he searched for a few seconds till he found a flash drive, "here" he said as he handed him the drive. Lucy and  Mary remained at the investigation room trying to figure who was next victim, the killer had left a white Marshmello on the couch yesterday, this time the piece of paper in it had numbers that read, 22-5-14-9_22-9-4-9_22-9-3-9, they derived a Latin sentence from the numbers that read "Veni Vidi vici", but no one between them knew Latin so they had to look it up online, and they saw that it meant I came, I saw, I conquered, they started making random names from the sentence till they came with three different names but only one between those three names existed, the name was Carmen Wiod, they went look him up in Lucy's computer to see if he was really a person of interest to the assasin, they realized that he owned a bank called EMS Bank, so basically he was rich just like every other killer's target, soon as they gathered all this information they called Henry to tell him, as they were about to call him Claire also joined the room with a new information she had found, by then Henry was already leaving the cabin where Mr. Dion's family was being hidden from the assasin, he had finished delivering them a very terrible message about Mr. Dion's death, as he was about to reach his car his phone started ringing, he reached inside his pocket and pulled it out, he saw it was Lucy calling so he answered it, "hey we got something" said Lucy as soon as he answered
"What do you got" he replied as he kept walking towards his car
"We found the next victim" said Lucy
"Well, spill it" Henry replied so excited
"His name is Mr. Carmen Wiod, he owns a bank near Dasterdly street" she said, "it's at the ground floor of Wiod building" she added
"So he's rich just like the others" he replied
"Alright here is fun part" Claire interrupted, "I traced Mr. Dion's stolen money and it was transferred into secret account in that same same bank" she added, " the account is registered under a Dustin Harrington" she continued
"Wow that's great, so here is what we're going to do" he replied and then stopped right in front  of his car, "you three are going to go to that bank, Lucy and Mary if what you say is true then the thief is going to try and rob that place, and I know this was a longterm plan, which means she might have left some tracks for us follow, I want you to find those tracks, try and find any signs that may lead us to the thief", he said with his phone on his ear, " and as for Claire find the person who opened the account, we find that person we find our thief, I'll go find this Carmen Wiod and warn him of the danger his in" he continued. Everyone was set and they knew what they were supposed to do find both the killer and the thief, Henry drove and took a stop to at a certain store around town, the store was owned by his old friend from the force who was in retirement because of some disabilities, "hey Charlie, long time no see" said  Henry as he approached him at the counter,
"Henry, how have you been" he replied with a warm smile on his face,
"Am good, how are you" he asked while leaning his hands on the table,
"Good, what brings you here" asked charlie
"I came to see you Charlie" he replied
"No, I know you, you don't come here for no reason" replied Charlie
" Fine, I need favour"
"See that's more like you" Charlie replied with a little smirk on his face "so what's up" he added
"There's a video footage in this drive, I want you to try and ID the face of the person in it" said Henry while handing out the drive
"Shouldn't you be giving this to the police"  Charlie replied as he took the flash drive from Henry's hand
"I trust you" he replied and turned around to leave the store "call me when it's done" he added as he left the store.
When they got at the bank Claire went to the bank teller to talk to her about the account, soon as she got at the teller she slammed her badge on the glass window in front  of the teller, "I want you to check an account for me" she said with her hand still on the glass and a smile on her face, when teller saw the badge she became polite and a little bit scared,
"What's the account" asked the teller ready to type it in the computer,
"All I have is the name of the account" she replied, "it's Dustin Harrington" she added, the teller typed the name and searched it,
"Sorry that account doesn't exist anymore" replied the teller after looking at it in the computer
"What do you mean it doesn't exist, I just saw it this morning" she replied
"The account was deceased four hours ago" the teller replied,
"And where did all the money go" asked Claire while so confused
"To a charity fund for kids run by the bank" she replied, Claire was so confused and didn't even know what her next move should be, she just stood there for a second and tried to process the situation.
Lucy was talking to the manager requesting an audience with Mr. Carmen the owner of the bank, but unfortunately Mr. Carmen was not at the bank so they just had to leave, outside the office Mary was waiting for her sitting at the bench, "what did he say" asked as she stood up from the bench,
"He said they haven't seen Mr. Carmen all day, they tried call him but his cell keeps going to voicemail" she replied still standing at the door,
"Did you at least tell him what was going to happen to the bank" asked Mary
"No I couldn't, I wanted to be giving this information to the main target" Lucy replied as she started walking away from the office,
"So what are we going to do" Mary asked again, who was now walking with her
"Let's hope Henry gets to him, before it's too late" said Lucy, and then kept walking, they reached at the site where all bank activities take place, they wanted to see if they were any signs that the thief will come to rob the bank, so they started looking around for few minutes but still found nothing,They even went to the control room to look at the security cameras to see if there was  anyone suspicious, but found nothing, they came back around bank for a last check up before they leave, Mary was checking one end of the bank and still found nothing, but when Mary turned around to go talk to Lucy and tell her that she hasn't found anything, a man with a very large bag back passed behind her, the bag was too large that it covered the back of his his head, and its bottom reached below his butts, the man didn't seem so strange cause he's business was not in the bank, he had some other business in the other floors, so in the elevator he went and the elevator took him to floor number twenty three.
Henry had reached to Mr. Carmen's house, he wanted to see if he was home so that he could inform him of what's coming, he reached at the front gate and rang the door bell, a few moments later a woman came to open the gate, "how may I help you" asked the woman who was holding on to the gate,
"Am looking for Mr. Carmen" Henry replied with his hand inside the pocket of his coat
"He left since morning, him with his wife" she replied
"Sorry do you know when they will be back" he asked
"They are always back late at night, you can catch them at work if you want to talk to them" she replied,
"Okay, thanks" he replied, then turned around and went back to his car, he drove back to the station where he found, Lucy and Claire in the investigation room, all of there faces weren't happy because they all kept chasing after dead ends, they were waiting for him to see if he had any luck at finding Mr. Carmen, he went straight and took a seat at chair and sighed,
"Judging from the look on your face, you didn't find Mr. Carmen" said Claire,
"What about you, did you find the owner of the account" asked Henry
"The account was deleted before I got there, and all money was transferred to a charity fund" she replied, before they could go on with the conversation Mary opened the door "guys you need to see this" she said and then left, surprised by her entrance they looked at each other for second then got up to follow her, she took them to her lab where she was examining some of parts of Mr. Dion's car,
"I found something" she said, then took a small broken piece of the magnetic object that was placed on Mr. Dion car that night,
"What's that" asked Lucy,
"This was found on Mr. Dion's car the day of his accident" she replied, as she handed it to Henry, "that's a remote contol device, once it's turned on the other person has complete control of the car" she added,
"So you are saying his death was also a murder not just an accident" asked Henry
"Exactly but that's not my point" she replied, "that device was planted on his car even before we got to him" she added, "what am saying is, the killer has already planned out everything and whatever we do, we can't stop them" she continued
"They are just sending us in wild goose chase" said Lucy
"They are just giving us bread crumbs, making us think we're catching up to them, but in the end they are going to win and we won't even see them coming" added Claire,
" No, Not this time, this time they are going down" said Henry while holding the piece, "we are going to get them, and they won't believe it" he added.
Next morning Henry gathered all the police in town around the bank, he wanted to make sure that whatever heist the thief and the killer were planning is not going to work, he was assigning everyone different positions throughout every floor on the building, so the whole building was flooded with police not to mention the bank itself, there were more police in the bank compared to every floor, they also made sure that no one was entering or leaving the building, so the people inside it were to remain till the day was over,as the heist prevention was going Mr. Carmen showed up in his car and parked next to a black motorcycle in front  of the building, soon as he got out of the car he was received by Henry and his other fellow police officers, "what are you people doing at my building" he asked furiously, he was also accompanied by his secretary, lady in her late twenties with brunette hair and fairy pink lips, she wore a navy suit and black leather hand bag on her left arm,
"Your bank is going to be robbed" he replied as he got closer to him,
"And what makes you say that" he asked
