Chapter 5: Someone... Else....

Everyone had left by now. Amy felt relaxed, in a bad way, now she could let her emotions show. Upon learning that what was thought to be hers wasn't, it was heartbreaking. She had devoted many years to loving Sonic, now all wasted because that emo mess of a hedgehog existed!

She wanted to scream, she wanted to cry. She wanted, more than anything, Sonic. It wasn't going to end the way she wanted. She knew it wouldn't, but she had hoped. Her entire life was based upon hope; the hope that Sonic would love her back, the hope that she could live a happy life, the hope no one would hurt her. All gone.

Sonic could never love her, she would never live a happy life knowing that, she was hurt. She dropped the sponge and plate she was cleaning, her hands at each side of said sink, and looked down. She began to sob. The sobs soon turned to wails and echoed throughout the house. Loud enough to the point where she couldn't hear the innocent rabbit walk in.

"Amy?" A meek voice spoke. Amy quickly wiped her tears, turning to the rabbit with a bitter smile, eyes red and puffy and a stray tear running for cover down her cheek. Cream's eyes widened, running up to Amy and engulfing her in a hug "Sonic isn't the only person out there!" She sighed "There are plenty of fish in the sea." Amy nodded, the lump in her throat preventing her from talking without crying again.

"Perhaps..." Amy took a shaky inhale "You are right..." "We'll be here for you! We all know this will be hard for you. Don't jump into a relationship with anyone just because of this." Cream explained "How do you know so much about relationships? You're 14!" Amy sighed. "I've seen many couples." She then pulled out her necklace she kept tucked under the collar of her dress. "It allows me to see emotions. I look at what triggers them." She smiled

Amy nodded. "Then, does Sonic have feelings for Shadow?" Cream shook her head. "Well, sort of? He is too dumb to notice his attraction. He rather good at pushing emotions away when he is trying to save people, as always. Even when he's sad he looks happy." Cream muttered. Amy gasped. "He has... I have..." she sighed "I wasn't fit for him... Shadow has been right everytime he said Sonic looks miserable!" She put her hands over her face, shaking her head. "I am definitely not suited to him!"

(A Year Prior)

Amy muttered profanities under her breath. It wasn't like her, no, but it was an occasion for such language. "Sorry, what was that?" Shadow smirked, holding Sonic by the scruff of his neck. "Leave him alone you- You-" "Oh please!" Shadow rolled his eyes as he cut her off. He had become a lot more sarcastic and vocal lately, a rather odd change of character to Amy.

"The guy's miserable. Look at his eyes." Amy looked at a squirming Sonic, following Shadow's advice. "Well, he looks annoyed to me." Amy retorted "Yea, wouldn't you be if you were in my position?" Sonic stated. Amy nodded in agreement. "Wait- you're looking into Sonic's eyes?" Knuckles smirked "That's a little gay if you ask me." Knuckles began laughing. Everyone, including Sonic, rolled their eyes. "Enough with the gay jokes Knuckles!" Tails shouted.

Knuckles had just learnt what a 'gay joke' was and had become infactuated with it. Modern culture definitely wasn't for him - Angel Island should have remained his home. This place was clearly corrupting him in some form.

Shadow threw Sonic at Amy, both tumbling down the hill. "I'm bored of you." Shadow muttered. A loud shout was heard from Shadow before he chaos controlled away. "That's unlike Shadow..." Knuckles muttered as he walked back to Angel Island. He was definitely documenting this. Tails however, rushed to his clearly injured friends. This was going to be a hefty hospital bill.
