Hi everyone! To be quite honest with you, this book idea has been on the back-burner for a long time. Before you click off, or start writing your hate comments, please remember that I am a person with real feelings! Also, I've started writing this book because of the discrimination I've gotten not only online, but also in real life, and seriously can't imagine the drama Dream must be going through. Please call me Aurora, and let's begin.
To start this off, I am going to take you all the way back to the beginning of when I first heard about Dream. Picture this: It's the day sixth grade ends, the marking of one year of covid learning finally being over. The time is about 10:00 Pm, since I could be free and finally sleep in. Of course, I was a little over-excited for the summer and snuck my phone to watch some YouTube before sleep. I was going to click off and go to bed after watching some Forge Labs, when suddenly I noticed an interesting video in the recommended area, "Minecraft Manhunt." I can't remember how many hunters were in that first video I watched, but what I do know was that I was instantly hooked. The excitement. The drama. The slight overall cringiness. It was to die for! And dream had around twenty million subs? Insane!
The next day I was visiting some friends and they asked me who I simped for. At this time, I had no idea what that word even meant. Once they explained that it meant something of a crush or an online person, I sort of "chose" Dream to be the guy I simped for. You can see how this continued.
A few months into watching his videos, I found the Dsmp. It first started with EvanMcGaming, and once I'd watched all the way up to the Eggpire it took my entire mind. It became my obsession. My life. School had started about a week after that, and it was a new school. Sure, I'd started during sixth grade, but I didn't know anybody or what the campus even looked like. My only friend was a grade above me, and we weren't that close.
I met a group of girls and hung around with them for the first four months, but sadly, we didn't have any interests. I never truly opened up to any of them about my Dsmp hobby, for I feared that I would look silly, or they wouldn't understand. This all changed however, when I met my best friend. For the sake of maintaining her online identity, we're going to call her "Sleepy."
It was halloween day at school, and I seriously could use a break, Seventh Grade had been pushing me hard! I dressed up as Dream/Drista (Never did fully decide) and Sleepy was Captain Puffy. The two of us were not on good terms, on account of me being angry at her the first time we met. (An unnecessary thing to mention.) Once we discovered we had nearly all the same classes together, we instantly bonded and I found my new bestie.
Over time, our friend group grew. Nona, (All these are nicknames) was next, she wasn't really a fan of the Dsmp, but didn't hate it or anything. A few weeks into our amazing friendship I found out she was also friends with my original friend who was a grade older than me, and whom we will now call "Tails."
Tails was friends with Mumza (who we now call her) and overtime it became the BEST friend group you could ever imagine. Dream was my lifeblood, but then, it happened. I discovered writing fanfiction.
The first book I ever read that was fanfiction was called "Drifting away from him to you," A Dream x Reader. I tried writing my own, and Sleepy made Fanart. The perfect duo, one could say. Over this past year and a half, I've improved so rapidly it's crazy, and I have a lot of you to thank for that too.
Timeskip to (I think?!?) March 2022, and Dream ends his Manhunt series. I was DEVASTATED. After memorizing every single Dsmp song from Derivakat, Cg5, and several from other sources, I knew where to seek comfort. This time around it was Derivakat and Yuki in for the delivery! The song was beautiful, and my life felt just a little better.
Then June happened. Most of my time being a Dream Stan, or honestly a Dsmp/Mcyt stan in general, Technoblade had been battling cancer. My one year Dream anniversary had only recently passed, and Techno had been a huge part of it too. He had been my first popular fanfiction, for god sakes! It all wrecked me in the end, but over the weeks that followed I bounced back again, though he's always in my heart.
Late September- just a few weeks ago actually, and Las Nevadas ended, marking one is extremely likely to be the forever end of the Dsmp. My book "Entanglement" ~DreamXD x Reader~ hitting 16K+ reads kept me going, it kept me alive from sinking into a depression. (Literally) Only when it finally ended did I realize how much I depended on them all, and with no hope of a Dream face reveal I was ruined. My career was OVER.
Until... I found out two days ago he was going to face reveal. I WAS ONLY THERE AT THE PREMIERE BECAUSE OF MY MOST TOXIC DREAM HATING "FRIEND" WANTING TO SEE HOW FAT HE WOULD BE! The whole thing was ironic, as I had waited 7 hours to see the upload, only finding out twenty minutes before that for some reason it wasn't showing up in my notifications. I sucked it up and watched his face reveal with the Dream Hater, (Kinda have a crush on this person who is honestly the WORST, but more on that later.)
I also watched it with Sleepy, who had been there the entire way with me. <3
At 10:00 last night when I SHOULD have been sleeping for school, I woke up in the middle of the night to watch the Dream Team meetup on George's channel. Now you might think to yourself that this is crazy, and believe me, it is! But when you're truly dedicated to something, you'll stick through it the whole way, and that's what they have taught me.
Now to get back from the sentimental track, I have become inspired for the future to come. (Wait that's sentimental-)
THE POINT is that so far I've only shown the happy, bright side of things for the most part. The Dream things for the most part. Not what I had to experience, the tragedies, the insults, the desolation, the hate, the rumors, the cyberbullying. I will put all of that in the next entry.
