"TUA? Anything else?" She questioned. I noticed that she always had a condescending tone to her voice, like she didn't believe in me or my work. It was off putting to say the least, but the most I can do right now is pursue this school.

"No, nothing else. I want to get into TUA and TUA only."

"That's rather difficult do to, (Y/N) honey. I suggest you have another school in mind in case things don't go the way you plan."

My teacher doesn't know that I don't tend to plan things out. All my achievements are just me being lucky, strangely enough, my friends have told me that I 'look the type' to have everything on a strict schedule. In reality, I do what I want in the moment. I go on a whim.

"You're right. But it's TUA or nothing, there's no point signing up for another school. Trust me, I have an idea on what I'm doing."

She sighed and dropped her head in which her short, pale, blonde hair fell over her dark brown eyes. If I had to guess her age, I would say she was in her early 50s. She was kind and patient with me, which I appreciated. She was like a second mother figure to me.

"Fine, but you're getting extra assignments from me over the holidays!"

I stand up and swing my backpack from up on the floor to over my shoulder, "Thanks Miss."

"I'm home!" I announce as I walk through the front door of my house and take off my shoes one at a time. I place them down carefully against the wall next to all the other shoes and shrug my bag from off my shoulder.

No greeting, as perusal. I currently live between my mothers house and my fathers house. My mum lives with her boyfriend, my stepdad, but I don't think I will ever consider him as my stepdad. He's not the father figure I can necessarily go to when I'm in need. He's just some guy who stays here.

But on the other hand, my father lives alone. He's a successful man who is proud of his achievements and job. But not his own daughter. How selfish is that? But nevertheless, what can he do in the end? I'm still this man's daughter, he has to love me and I have to love him back, that's how it works.

I love my mother though, she's a beautiful and kind woman, I wish I took after her rather than my father. She was an artist at my age, but when she met my father, she changed her entire career for him. She went into web design, though it made our family money, she didn't enjoy it as much as she should.

I never understood that. Why get a job in something you're not happy with? You can still make money by doing something you love, you just have to advertise it to the right people. It can't be that hard.

As I trudge up the stairs, I'm welcomed by the warmth of my bedroom as I step through the door. With my bag still slung around my arm, I dropped it onto the floor next to my bed. I plopped down onto my bed with a huff and closed my eyes to rest them.

My ears perk up as I hear the front door open, two pairs of feet walk through. Must be mum and her boyfriend.

"Hiya ma!" I call from the top of the stairs as I head out of my room to greet her. As I'm heading for the bottom of the stairs I see mum taking off her shoes at the entrance with a white plastic bag at her feet.

She lifts up the bag as she sees me, "I bought take out for us. I didn't feel like cooking tonight." She smiled gingerly.

Life has been slow, and has always been slow. I don't expect it to pick up pace anytime soon, but I'd like something exciting to happen. Days are longer in the summer time, it gives more daylight to work on paintings and drawings. This is the perfect time to go out, the breeze is warm and the grass is green.

I grab my camera and sketch book from my bedroom and shove them into my bag. Leaving the house, I call for my mum to let her know that I'm going out. Living in a remote area that was close to the city comes in handy when looking for inspiration for drawings and photos. Greenery, people and buildings were great practice.

I hop on my bike and take the road down to my local park. The cool summer breeze washes through my hair and nips the tip of my nose. Hearing the leaves rustle against one and other creates an image in my head. The perfect picture to capture.

Sounds and music influence my art and way of thinking. Listening to every detail, down to the smallest scratch. Every sound creates a story. And I want my art to put that story into visuals. How I perceive the wondrous sounds of the world.

Once my ride became unsteady on the uneven dirt path, I stepped off my bike and lent it against a large, green tree. Green trees and flowers surrounded me. Lavender was scattered around in the midst of the tall grass creating a guided path towards an abandoned park. The park was overgrown, covered in vines and berry bushes. Thorns would stick out at every corner, poking and prodding my arms as I make my way through the park's gate.

The sun was getting low, casting long shadows across the ground. The sky was painted orange, birds were now black silhouettes and the breeze began to steady.

Taking my black camera from its case, I began spanning anything in the park that i found interesting. This was often the sunset, colourful butterflies landing on leaves or the rusted metal from the decaying swings.

The sky began to turn purple, and I was getting weary. Putting my camera back in its respected case, I walk back to my bike. Through the thorns and lavender, I see my red Pashley bike propped up where I last left it. It was time to head home.
