Wai swore, if Pran sighs for another time this evening, then he is going to...

Pran sighed again.

That's it.

"Pran!"

Pran looked up from his cubicle. His tired face morphed into a confused expression. His dishevelled hair made him more adorable in that look.

"Huh?"

"Dinner time!"

"But it's only half past 4?"

"It's Thursday. We are heading out for a drink after dinner."

"But my project is due in..."

"7 days."

"And the meeting is..."

"Tomorrow afternoon after our lunch break."

"And the client is..."

"Meeting you next Wednesday."

"And the plan..."

"P'Toto had approved it an hour ago."

"But..."

"Three wantons."

"Fine!"

Wai already had all the answers to every question in Pran's mind. For God's sake, Pran and he had been best friends since he didn't know when.

So, of course, he would know what was Pran thinking, or worrying about.

Right now, he needed to drag Pran out of this suffocating office.

///

Pran had texted Pat when he swallowed his second wanton, telling Pat that he was hanging out with Wai after work. Their plan was to stop by somewhere for a drink before the night ends.

Immediately, Pat proposed to go to the bar which Korn runs. And Pat would meet them there in an hour.

So, here they are, taking a table with three mugs of beers and some hot chips, which were on the house. All thanks to Korn.

"Thank you for looking after my faen. I know he can be a little difficult to handle sometimes."

Pat thanked Wai with a goofy tone while directing his playful smile toward Pran. Pran glared at Pat and pouted. He wasn't that stubborn, mind you.

"Hahaha, no worries, I don't like seeing him stressing out about things he makes up in his pretty little head."

Wai spoke as he poked Pran's temple. Pran hissed at Wai. He didn't always make things up in his mind. He was only being cautious. Okay, he admits, a little way too cautious.

"Pran, stop. You seem like you already had 5 plans ready to murder me."

Wai joked. Pran was so easy to read, especially when he was in his weird headspace. Only Pat could bear with this version of Pran.

"Soooooo... As a token of appreciation, I will introduce my best friend to you!"

Oh no, Pat's impromptu ideas are usually worse than Pran's meticulous plans.

Wai had a bad feeling, but he couldn't pinpoint what was that about. He faked a smile and saw Pran smirking, like the little devil he was.

Pran leaned in and whispered into Wai's ears, making sure that Pat didn't hear them.

"I heard Korn is open to different choices. Good luck, my friend."

Wai burned in embarrassment as Pran teased him. His fair complexion did nothing to conceal the rosiness on his cheeks.
