Growing up
Growing up is not an easy thing,
You lose yourself, you get heartbroken, and you have this indescribable feeling that you won't make it out alive this time! That this will be the thing that kills you, that takes you away in an instant.
But then you're 22 driving to work and sipping on your coffee while listening to your jams wondering how you've made it to this moment with everything that you've been through... how have I who once thought I wouldn't make it past 16 have nearly made it to 23? Will I make it past 24? Or 27? You ponder about things like "What am I supposed to do now? " I didn't prepare for this! I had no idea I'd have to figure these decisions out. Growing up is full of wondering, full of mistakes, and mostly finding yourself. They don't tell you that. They don't tell you that when you lose yourself that it will take awhile but you will find yourself again even through the worst of things, that you will be able to breathe again and see the light that was hidden from the dark thoughts. Growing up is a mess and it doesn't stop when you turn 18 and move away from your home, it will chase you down as the years go by and one day you'll look back and realize that all along you were growing.
