Murda and his mother both struggle to piece a sentence together. There are more than enough unsaid things between the two. They haven't seen each other in months, let alone exchange words. The thirty seconds of silence speaks for itself, it causes an immediate shift in the room. You could even see it in nurse high yellow's face. "𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡... 𝙞𝙢𝙖 𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮'𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦" she says, looking nervously to Cliff and Woddy before heading for the door again. This time, it's where Murda wishes her ass would've stayed. Murda's whole being froze when he saw his momma again. She had been texting and reaching out, probably in hopes of reconnecting, or asking for more money but with everything Murda had going on, this was the last thing he wanted to deal with. Especially considering the last time they saw each other was pretty bad. His momma's face becomes a memory of their last argument.
"𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩? 𝙄'𝙢 𝙖 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣! 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙄 𝙙𝙖𝙢𝙣 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙖 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙣𝙤𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘮𝘦!" she yells, throwing Murda's things by the front door of the house. "𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙢𝙖, 𝙄 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙'𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘯 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜" Murda says unbothered, as he stands, prepared to be led out. This is obviously a conversation they've had time and time again, before, in different fonts. "𝘽𝙬𝙤𝙮, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣" she snaps. "𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙤 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣' 𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙" She scoffs at his words. "𝙮𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙞'𝙢 '𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙪𝙥 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙢𝙖?" he asks rhetorically. "𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙞𝙣'𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙣𝙤 𝙙𝙖𝙢𝙣 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙇𝙖𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨!" she yells, slurred. Now more obvious that she'd been drinking before he showed up. Sometimes, he felt he was more of a parent to her, than she ever was to him. He had been supporting her financially, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 emotionally since he was fifteen.
"𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙢𝙖?" he asks carelessly, looking down to adjust the cuffs of his jacket, growing more and more irritable of the conversation. For a second there, she has no words to give him. He looks to her for a real answer this time. "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙞𝙣'𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙, 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚." he says pained. If he was naive to his mother's mind games, he would've allowed himself to cry in front of her. He's suddenly a child again, in need of his momma's love. She pauses before stepping to him, grabbing his cheek and obviously pained by his words. "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮" she says softly, choking in between words "𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙤." He steps away and turns from her touch, it don't feel comforting like it once did before.
"𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩, 𝙄 𝙬𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚!" she admits, this time standing in her wrongs. "𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣'𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙇𝙖𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨. 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙞 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮 𝙞'𝙢 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝙄'𝙢 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙬" she says, this time reaching for his hand. He pulls away sharply and walks to the door, picking up the belongings she's thrown. It hurt to look at her. "𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝘪'𝘮 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙢𝙖." he keeps his eyes on the exit before him. Hs begins to stammer again. "𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣?" he exhales shakily, shaking his head and scratching his face to play off swelling tears. "𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙝 𝙞'𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬" he repeats once more, tapping the door before he walks out and closing it behind him. He could hear her sob from outside the house when it shut. He pauses a little before he walks away.
