Ever since I can remember, I have had one reoccurring nightmare, I would usually wake from it, drenched in a cold sweat. I never found out why I had this nightmare, and to this day I still don't know.
When I was 7, I was placed in a mental hospital, my parents didn't believe that I had this dream every night, they thought I was crazy. I would yell at them every morning "I'm telling the truth! Why don't you believe me!?" They wouldn't listen, all they would say is "it's just a phase, you'll grow out of it" I never did.
I remember one specific morning, I woke in my usual, soaked state, but I had the urge to cry, drowning myself in sorrow, this was not at all normal. I let it all go, I cried and cried and cried.
My mother came in and woke me up. "Are you having the dream again?" She asked, "no" I replied, head in my palms, sobbing. "Well come on, it's time to go".
