In the abyss, their citadel stirs.
The Overlord walks through a rift of pure darkness, into the throne room of the abyss, he sees Surtr sitting in what the Overlord deems his new throne, now that he has a body. He taps his foot on the ground, then starts walking toward Surtr. Surtr sees him, and says nothing, he gets up, and lunges at the Overlord. However, before connecting a blow, the Overlord decided to side step and then summon a dark katana, slashing Surtr's side.
"Do not test me, Surtr, you may be a god, but I am the physical embodiment of darkness." He cackles, Surtr sits on the ground, inspecting his wound, shocked that the element of darkness could hurt the god of death, as darkness is one of it's main components. The overlord sits on the thorned throne, and gazes far into the hall, inspecting every pillar, reading every rune, all while Surtr recovers.
"Why are you here? Don't you have a cooler castle in your own dimension?" Surtr asks.
"Because soon the wars will begin, bring every demon of the abyss to me, and I will enhance their strength with the power I can grant of pure darkness, hatred, and evil." The Overlord replies, with a menacing glint in his dark red eyes, glowing faintly beneath his helmet.
"But why do you want to wage war with this... Empire? Sometimes even I don't know why I waged war with them myself, and even so, we can't simply destroy the universe anymore, the elemental wells are scattered throughout the universe, and we need to corrupt all of them to kill the Arcane Heart." Surtr said, with a confused look on his face. The Overlord got up from his throne, and blinked directly in front of Surtr.
"Did you really think I don't have a plan yet? The well of darkness rests in my castle, and I know that light is being closely guarded by the empire. The other four I have some... Agents, scouting most the universe, we will find all the wells, and we will take them all, and most importantly, this universe will die." The Overlord explains to Surtr, to which looks up with a fire in his eyes the Overlord didn't expect to see.
"I have been wanting revenge on the empire for humiliating my strength, and especially Urzael. He drained my energy as I fought Sora, so much so to the point where I lost, I HATE Urzael, and I WILL kill Sora." The Overlord smirks at the hatred that has been sparked into Surtr's soul. Easy to manipulate, those blinded by hate. The Overlord thinks to himself, and simply says.
"Good." Surtr gets up, and summons a rift to ground omega.
Surtr ends up in a field, to a farm. He flies into the air, condensing himself into a small orb of darkness, he scouts around the nearby village for anyone with hatred. When he find one who hates his, self caused, economical circumstances, he flies down into the man's chest, possessing him with ease. He finds a way to hide his eyes, as it is the only sign of possession Surtr can't fix. He starts walking towards a bigger city, speeding up his pace when he finds himself on one of the major roads.
How beautiful, this city. How much prettier, will it be in ruin. He thinks to himself, stifling a laugh, at this point he's sprinting down the granite paths, he makes it to the entrance to the capital of Xalengard, and gets in with ease, the granite below his feet turn to marble, lined with obsidian. He wandered around the city, looking at the people and how happy they are, seeing shops and restaurants, and quite a few homes. He sees the large tower that is now the palace. He starts climbing upon one of the bridges, to reach the gardens that are the palace grounds, suspended in the sky with magic and quite a few support beams, connecting the palace itself to the ground, below the gardens is many more homes, and perhaps even a couple more shops. He finds himself at the end of the bridge, where a halo shaped path surrounds the spire, it seems that he picked the path that leads him directly in front of the entrance. He walked into the palace, many pillars of obsidian, accented with gold, lining the many tables and the central staircase, spiraling into the sky. Someone in a white robe looked up from the table he was sitting at, noticing Surtr, disguised as the man, inspecting the many parts of the spire. He got up and walked over to him.
"Hey there, first time in the spire? You seem to be a little lost in the architecture." He asks and comments on Surtr's curiosity.
"Indeed, it is my first time in this spire, I'm from a village a fair ways away from here, coming to see this spire in all it's glory." Surtr responds.
"It is a symbol of the empire, that we stand tall, that we will keep standing, no matter the force thrown at us." The man replies, Surtr sees his blue eyes, which betray his happiness to explain it to someone new to the building.
"Say, you seem like you know a bit of this place, what's your name, as I'm sure you could show me around the spire." Surtr tells him.
"Oh, right, I'm Evan, elite mage and part of Sora's personal force, the Hallowed Order. Now, your turn." Evan tells Surtr. To which he has to think of a profile on the spot.
"I'm Geraldt, a simple man who farms and knows a little magic." He tells him, to which Evan doesn't bat an eye. Surtr sighs in relief. As Evan guides him through the spire, Surtr gets more and more nervous that he'll run into someone who will see through the façade. And when he almost got out, they ran into Urzael, who didn't hesitate to knock Surtr's sunglasses off.
