Dear Professor Layton,

I don't really know how to tell you this...

Dear Professor Layton,

Do you remember Mr Wright? Well, in case you didn't know, he runs a law firm in Los Angeles. The reason I bring this up is because I want to work there someday I was interested in I want to

Dear Professor Layton,

Do you remember that one time shortly before we moved that my Dad had invited you over and we started talking about stuff and it eventually trailed into me not being sure what I wanted to do once I'm older? Note to self: avoid long, potentially run on sentences

Dear Professor Layton,

I apologize for not having written to you in a while. You see, for the past year-ish, I've been busy with just general "figuring out what to do with the rest of your life" stuff. I've known what I wanted to do for a while now, but I haven't had many opportunities to do anything about it until recently.

There definitely were moments before where I thought about the possibility, but I think I figured it out my first or second year of school in America (I can't remember which one it was). Every year, twice a year, one of the history classes would hold a mock trial that anyone was allowed to participate in. I signed up to be the defense, if only because I was co-council when we were in Labyrinthia and thought it would be fun, and I was right! A friend of mine was picked to be the prosecutor, and though the case itself was a fairly simple one, we had a blast. That must have been when it clicked for me; I wanted to become an attorney. The more I thought about it, and the more I worked towards it, the more it solidified for me that this is what I want.

I met Mr Wright again. It was kinda funny; me and Mum were actually grocery shopping when I saw him doing the same. Maya wasn't with him, but his daughter was. (Have I ever mentioned his daughter, Trucy, before? She's a magician, and I know I've seen some of her shows, but I don't remember if I ever told you about them.) Anyway, I said hi, which caught him off guard, but he did say hi back, and we had a fairly long but lovely conversation. Long story short, I found out that his old law firm was located on the other side of the city from where we lived, and I told him how I wanted to be a lawyer someday. I'm not sure if he was joking or not since he did sound a little sarcastic, but he said something along the lines of "If I ever get my job back, you know who to call."

Also, he says hi.

I have so much I want to tell you, but I feel it would be best if I do so in person. Thankfully, this Christmas, we're visiting my aunt in Richmond, so I'll ask if I can visit you too.

Hope you've been doing well. And, sorry again that I haven't written in a long time. See you soon.

Sincerely, Luke
