Blood and brains splattered across the wall. Mikoto watches in horror as the bullet casing hits the cold concrete floor. Enzan stares into Ciel's lifeless eyes as he holsters his handgun. "Mr. Ijuin what the hell?!" Mikoto exclaims.
Enzan turns his attention to him with an emotionless gaze. "She was a threat to society," Enzan calmly explains. "It's our duty as officials to neutralize them and ensure the public's safety."
"She was only thirteen!"
"She held the power to seize control of the entire cyberworld, and in turn, ours. You know what a person can do when they're given tremendous amounts of power."
"That doesn't mean she couldn't be reasoned with. I didn't join your group to kill children. Besides, I thought none of this was legal. We don't need first-degree murder added to our list of charges."
"You don't seem to understand, our authority extends higher than the police force. We're on the same level of PSIA, CIRO, or your country's FBI, NSA, and CIA."
Mikoto stares at Enzan in silence.
"Help me confiscate the Four Guardians," Enzan orders. He snatches Fairy Leviathan and Fefnir's PETs from their charging docks and walks back up to the surface.
"...he just..." Barrett couldn't bear to finish his remark. Mikoto grabs Harpuia and Hidden Phantom's PETs and whispers, "...we're getting out of this...no matter what."
"...Ciel..." Leviathan mutters.
