Beaches of Driftmark, Driftmark Island
Early 106 AC
"Father wants to go to war." Laena said.
Laela had been recalled to High Tide, so she had been unable to attend the royal wedding.
"With the crown?" Laela doubted. "Father is to smart to go to war against House Targaryen. Especially since Laenor is betrothed to Rhaenyra."
Laela had informed Rhaenyra of this. Rhaenyra had hijaked it to manipulate to her advantages in the next small council meeting with Laenor's help.
Laena was the new heiress of High Tide and Driftmark, betrothed to Vaemond's eldest son Aerion Velaryon, who was her age.
Laenor on the other hand, would take the Targaryen name after his wedding to Rhaenyra, and all of their children would have the Targaryen name.
Laela could help with conceiving children. She had learned a few potions in her past life that allowed a gay man in a political marriage have legal children.
"Not with the Crown. He's going to war with Prince Daemon to control the Stepstones." Laena said.
"...That would benefit us. Who ever controls the Stepstones controls all the flow of trade—nearly every trader has to go through the Stepstones." the Pearl of the Sea admitted.
"And bind Daemon to us." the rider of Vhagar said carefully.
"Vaemond has no daughters, and all of our female Velaryon kin are to young for Daemon to wed. That... leaves...me." Laela whispered.
Laena had long since bolted to where Vhagar was sleeping, urging her mount into the sky as Laela let out a furious shriek, storm clouds growing.
Rhaenys, Corlys, Laenor, and Laena knew of her magic. Rhaenyra did as well.
And one had to be careful of an enraged magic user who was both smart, clever, and cunning with how she used her magic.
That is today's chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it!
