The arctic fox is a small mammal that live in Greenland and Russia. Its fur out is bright white and turns brown during the spring and Summer. Their color changing fur helps them to blend in with their surroundings and keeps them safe from predators. The temperature is very cold where they live. It's a good thing they are used to this weather! They're covered in a wonderful fur coat that has many different layers. Each layer does a good job keeping the fox warm. A thick layer of fat also helps keep warm on bone-chilling days. Food is sometimes hard to find in the cold weather, but the arctic fox can still locate mice, birds, and even fish to eat. Baby arctic foxes are called kits a female arctic fox can have up to 5 kits at a time the whole fox family stays safe in their underground den the den can have many tunnels the tunnels in den may have been there for many years and used by many fox families. The arctic fox is not endangered hopefully,it will be around for many more years.
