Two years have elapsed since Jace and I reconciled, yet I perceive that he has not fully absolved me of my past actions. I am uncertain about the appropriate course of action to rectify the situation. I have attempted to engage in a conversation with him regarding this matter, but he consistently dismisses my attempts. I am at a loss as to how to proceed.
In the past, Riele caused Jace profound emotional distress, and his mother understood the reasons behind her actions. At that time, Riele was young and imprudent for abandoning him, leading Jace to mature and believe that her departure was his fault. One evening, Riele approached their daughter's room but discovered it empty, causing her to panic. Descending the stairs, she halted in her tracks at a heartwarming sight—her daughter peacefully asleep on Jace's chest as he rested on the couch, both of them engrossed in slumber. Jace gradually opened his eyes and inquired about the duration of Riele's presence. Jacey stirred from her slumber.
Riele approached her mother to take Jacey from him. She then changed Jacey's diaper and placed her in the high chair.
Jace prepared breakfast for his family. Sitting beside Riele, he served their daughter before Riele commenced eating her meal.
Expressing his gratitude for the delectable breakfast, Jace greeted his girlfriend and children. After breakfast, he settled into a rocking chair, gently cradling his daughter, Jacey. Soon, she drifted off to sleep in his arms. With care, he rose, placed her in the crib, and quietly exited the room. Proceeding to the kitchen, he discovered Riele in tears. Concerned, he inquired, "Why are you shedding tears?" With sensitivity, he added, "I acknowledge that I have caused you pain in the past." Subsequently, he leaned in and kissed her.
