The trip wasn't that long. But still, I fell asleep because of my tiredness.

Joe pulled up in front of my parent's house. Right on the doorstep, stood both of my parents. They look angry... as always. I stepped out of the car and stood in front of my parents. "Where have you been, you little piece of shit?" mom asked. I never saw mom get mad at me nor say bad things to me. Maybe dad explained to mom why I should be treated the 'right way'. "We just went to the cliff" I replied. "You should've jumped, whilst you were there" as mom uttered those words, I felt like I was being stabbed repeatedly. "Go inside, asshole" dad demanded. I turned to face Joe who was guarding my back the whole time. We bid our 'goodbyes' and went inside the house.

From that moment on, I wasn't allowed to see him, talk to him, nor even make contact with him. I thought that it would be impossible, since we are very close 'friends', we go to the same school, we live near each other and we couldn't even go a day without talking to each other.

After the weekend, mom told me that I should go to school late, so I won't have to walk with Joe. When I arrived at school, I went to my locker to get some things. As I closed it, I was shocked to see a guy in a hoodie, staring at me. Even though the fluoricent lights above us are broken, I could tell that he's smirking. "You're late!" the guy spoke. I turned and started walking, as if I didn't hear him.

"Stop!" he demanded. I stop and turned to face the guy. "Where do you think you're going, missy?" he asked. "Well, you know... going to rob a bank or something" I replied sarcastically. "What?" he mumbled. He walked closer to me. "Do you even know what happens to late comer?" "No, I don't" I replied. "New student?" he guessed. But, he was wrong. EHHHH!!! Wrong answer bud.  "First time to be tardy" I corrected him. "Come. Follow me" he stated and led the way.

We ended up in the school library. He pulled the a chair for me, like the gentleman he is, but I grabbed it and tucked myself. "So, who are you exactly?" I asked. Before he could answer, he chuckled. I mean, what's funny about my question? "You sure you don't know me?" Dude, I asked you who you are. Would people asked who people are when theyalreadyknowwhotheyfuckingare?!? I raised one of my eyebrows. "Oh... They name's Lucifer" He said. "Lucifer. As in, the fallen angel?" I joked. "Just call me Luke" he said at the same time annoyed.  "You mean, Hermes' son who was used by Kronos then later killed?" I said as I was about to cry because of the thinking of Luke's death. His face was so confused. Maybe, I read to much Percy Jackson books already. "Forget what I said" "Okaay"

"So, how long are we gonna be here?" I asked, interrupting his beauty sleep. I was already drooling on one of the library books. Now I know what book not to use any more. "Until nine" he mumbled. I checked my watch and... "Well,  so long, then" I said. "Wait. Whoa. What?" Luke jumped out, still gaining his conciousness. "What? I still have class to attend to" "Ohh... See 'round, I guess". I left as soon as possible.

I was brisk walked my way to class when I heard someone call my name. "Uhmm, Danny!" but he didn't looked surprised to see me, like how I expected him to be. and that bothered me. I was about to greet him but then I remembered what I was told to... NAAHHH!! "Hey Joe!" I greeted. "Hey, can I borrow a pen?" Are you fucking kidding me? Weren't you worried at all that I wouldn't show up?!? "Sure. Here" I gave him a pen "You sure that's all you need?" I was expecting a more worried Joe who would hug me when he saw me and question why I didn't show up this morning. He nodded and left.

While in class, I've been writing notes and folding it into paper planes and sending it Joe, but he just kept on swatting every paper plane. When the teacher had to leave the room, I shouted his name but he just tucked his head in his arms as if he didn't hear me.

The day is about to end, and he didn't even talk to me like a normal person and not just borrowing my pen. It's been days since he last sent me a text message. I tried calling him but he kept on declining it. Fuck him! Now that he's ignoring me, I'm starting to become an attention whore, because what kind of best friends would stop talking to each other? I mean, WHO WOULD?!? Maybe he's just having problems lately... THAT I WASN'T AWARE OF! I decided to go to his place the next day. I told my parents that I was gonna buy dad another six pack or two. They let me go because I would go out in the pouring rain, and get sick

"Knock knock" I said without even really knocking the door. "I'll get it" said a voice from inside. When the front door swung open, a beautiful lady with brown hair stood in front of me. "Thank God! Danny you're hear" she stated, looking worried. "Why? What's the matter, Mrs. Gordon?" "It's Joe. He's been blue for sometime and we don't know why because he won't even talk to us. We tried to call your home to ask what was going on wtih your buddy but there was no answer" then I remembered when my dad got drunk, again and cut out the telephone line. She pointed the direction where Joe's bedroom is and ran up the stairs.

"Hunny, Danny's here! Open the door" his mom ordered. No answer. "JOE, OPEN THIS DOOR. I know you can hear us. Just open the door and we'll talk about whatever your problem is" I demanded. "Even if I open the d oor, it won't make me feel any better" Joe replied. "Will THAT locked door help you feel any better?" I defended my side. Click! The door wasn't unlock and grabbed hold of the knob.
