Deep in the Wisteria Forest, there lived a cottage isolated from the rest of the world. It was a small but cozy cottage. There were beautiful yellow star magnolias growing around the cottage, a little farm with plants and animals, and a nice little balcony for stargazing.
It's because of its remoteness that its inhabitants are able to exist freely without any problem. Who are the inhabitants, you may ask? Why, they're two young siblings named Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado, two of the children of Kie and Tanjuro Kamado and the last of their race, the mystical Sun Elves.
It's a tragic story really. The Sun Elves lived wonderful lives in their starlit village. The Kamado Siblings were happy with their farm and with their parents and younger brothers and sister. Everything was wonderful until the quaint village was attacked and raided by monsters. They took and massacred everyone. Only the two Kamado Siblings, who were deep in the Wisteria Forest collecting sticks for firewood at the time, survived.
It had been two years since the near extinction of the Sun Elves. The Kamado Siblings had been doing a pretty great job surviving alone in their cottage. They were living off of the remains of their farm and were in search for another village for supplies (and to survive the loneliness). One of the siblings were in the kitchen, baking something for her brother to eat.
Nezuko: *Humming while baking*
Tanjiro: *Comes in from the farm* Mmmm, that smells good. What are you making, Nez?
Nezuko: I'm just baking some chocolate chip cookies, Tanj. You've been working hard today in the farm, so I'd thought I make you something to enjoy once you were done.
Tanjiro: Well, that was thoughtful!
Nezuko: *Smiles* Once I'm done baking, I'll brew some milk.
Tanjiro: Good ol' milk and cookies. Thanks, Nezuko!
Nezuko: You're welcome! So, how are those tomatoes looking?
Tanjiro: Great! Just a few more weeks and they'll be ready to harvest. *Sighs* Nez, we're getting low on flour.
Nezuko: I know. I didn't use any today.
Tanjiro: So, what are you using for the cookies?
Nezuko: Actual flowers I picked and grounded into powder.
Tanjiro: (Shocked) ...
Nezuko: *Chuckles* I'm just kidding. Don't worry, I only used a little.
Tanjiro: (Relieved) Phew, for a moment I was afraid you were gonna feed me cookies with flower petals in them. But...that doesn't change the fact that we're going to run out of flour. I've been looking for a village but I haven't found one. This forest is surprisingly big.
Nezuko: I remember we use to play with the little ones all the time in these woods, but following what happened, we've been living deep in this forest for two years. No communication. No other people. Just you and me and all of nature's beautiful creatures...for two years.
Tanjiro: Yeah! *Sighs* It's been a while since I've seen another face. Well, I'm going out in the farm again, Nez. Let me know if those cookies are ready.
Nezuko: I will.
Tanjiro went back out to the farm, leaving Nezuko alone in the kitchen to keep baking. All of a sudden, a small pastel calico kitten slipped in through the window and onto the counter where Nezuko was baking. Seeing her, Nezuko extended her hand outward to pet the kitten.
Nezuko: Good afternoon, Piper! Did you have a good nap?
Piper: *Mews*
Nezuko: Make sure you rest that leg Tanjiro bandaged for you, okay?
