It's October 1st 2022, fall time, the leaves were fragile and came in different types of orange shades. It was a beautiful sunny day outside. It was 1:12pm in the day. The birds were singing outside my window. I was upstairs listening to music with my headphones on, I was so tired after doing tons of maths homework, even though it's nearly the end of school they always seem to terrorise the students and give them unbelievably hard questions that we obviously can't understand, I mean I'm in year 10 I'm 16 how long can the school do this to us for it's ridiculous.

"VIOLET!"
........
*music keeps playing"

I hear a muffled yell but ignore it,

"VIOLET MARRIE!"

"What?! I'm coming Jesus"
I get up and chuck some baggy pajama pants on and head down stairs

"I've got a work meeting during the day" she says with some toast in her mouth "so I really need you to bring these cookies over to the millers next door.
"Millers?" I say reaching for a cookie. My mum slaps my hand "not for you" she says "who are the millers and since when did you cook in the middle of the day?" I say playfully
"The millers just moved in across the street and I want them to feel welcome, please do this nice thing and don't be weird" she says.
"Me?, weird?, please you've got nothing to worry about." I say grinning.
"I'm serious Violet"
I grab the clear bowl with cooking inside of it and slip on some slippers and head out.
I see the house that was once Mr Coldens house but since he's wife past away he moved down to Florida to stay with his family,
I see a big white and gray house almost big enough to be a mansion, well atleast in my eyes.
I walk over across the street and look around at all the moving trucks.
"Jesus how much things do they need" I say under my breath as I ring the doorbell.
The door was already open but I preceded to wait.
"Coming!"
I hear a boy say in the distance.
I see a tall handsome boy with a white simple t-shirt on and some baggy sweatpants. He had messy short dark brown hair that it almost looked black. He's eyes were slim and almond shaped.
"Can I help you" he says glaring down at me smirking up at down.
"Uh yes, i-is your mom home"? I say blushing.
There were a few seconds of silence.
"MUM?!" He yells out while holding eye contact with me.
I glare down at the ground.
Footsteps approach me and I look up to see a lady with a huge smile smiling at me,
"Hi! My names Violet, my mum said you just moved today, how are you settling in?"
"That's so sweet of you to come by sweetie, we are doing just fine, it's a beautiful neighbourhood here." She says
"Yes it's really nice and quiet." I awkwardly smile at her.
"My names Joyce by the way darling" she shakes my hand
She looks down at the bowl filled with cookies.
"Oh yes my mum made these for you I hope your not allergic to chocolate." I say smiling.
"Oh no we love chocolate, it's just me my husband and my son hear at the moment, I'm guessing you just met my son Ezra?"
"Ahh yep I did, he seems sweet?"
She laughs, sensing my awkwardness
"He's sweet, he's just shy" Joyce says
I smile at her and nod
"Anyway I should probably go back home and let you unpack" I say
"Alright sweetie thank you for the cookies and stopping by. Say thank you to your mum for me I'd love to have you all over for lunch."
I say bye and walk back home.
