Harry, a red mop-haired male, had been a caretaker of Doi, a yellow-skinned blue-haired boy, for almost five months. He had saved the boy from his previous life, in a trashy infested home, paired with a perverted sorry excuse for a father.
Harry worked at a big chain company, a simple boring office job, just as he liked it. Though thanks to his job, he always has to sniff out babysitters. He's never been able to find a babysitters that watches Doi for more than a day, because the little ball of energy always scares them off with his never ending questions and constant boredom.
Harry usually just asked around town for babysitters, but finally decided to make poster to hang around town.
After making fetching posters, with a little help from Doi, they hung them up all around town.
Robin was currently struggling for money, working as a low grade janitor at a local grocery store. He was on his way home for a tiresome day at work when he spotted a brightly colored poster hanging on the door of a small coffee shop.
Out of pure curiosity, he walked over to it. The poster offered a babysitting job, 16$ an hour. He'd always thought he was great with kids, so he plucked off one of the phone number tabs and headed to his decently depressing trailer.
Harry was sitting on the couch, cradling a sleeping Doi while humming softly. Then, he heard the distinct ring of the home phone. He gently set Doi down and walked over to it, picking it up quickly.
"Hello?"
"Hello!" A squeaky voice responded.
"How may I help you?"
"Well, I saw that you needed a babysitter, and let me just say that kids love me!"
Harry laughed at the man's boldness.
"Oh, well, perfect. So you're interested?"
"Yes siry!"
Harry and Robin discussed what time he should arrive, where he should arrive, where things were in the house, and how to care for Doi. The two finally said their goodbyes and hung up.
The next day came by in a flash. Robin woke up early to cook himself a breakfeat of eggs and fried chicken, an odd meal but whatever floats his boat.
After he finished eating, he dressed up in his iconic plaid suit and headed out.
Harry set down a plate of eggs and sausage for the hungry yellow boy, who drooled over the steaming food. "Now Doi, be good for the babysitter today, ok?"
Doi's mouth was shoved full of eggs, so he could simply just nod. Harry chuckled and adjusted his tie, plopping down into his cushioned chair and pulling out a newspaper, waiting patiently for the babysitter.
After a few minutes, Robin finally made it to the house, which stood out quite a bit. Not many houses in the town were bright pink.
Robin gave the wooden door a quick three knocks, rocking on his heels as he waited for someone to awnser the door. Soon, a tall red haired man awnsered, which was quite a bit taller than duck.
"Oh hello, you must be Robin?"
"Yes yes, pleasure to see you!"
"Come on in."
Robin had never realized just how monotone the man's voice was, in his opinion it was slightly attractive.
"Doi!" Harry called out, causing a little yellow boy to rush over to him.
"So this is the little squirt I'm going to be watching today? Why, this is going to be a breeze" Robin smirked confidently, being cocky as ever.
"You'd be surprised how many have said that." Harry said, as if this was the start of some wild adventure. Robin scoffed and waved his hand in a dismissing matter.
Harry rolled his eyes and grabbed his briefcase, soon walking out the door and waving goodbye.
Robin looked down at the little boy, who stared back up at him.
"Why hello, you must b-"
"Are you a crow?"
"Huh- what, no!"
"What are you then?"
"I'm a rooster"
"Oh."
"So w-"
"Do you have wings"
"What kind of question is that?"
Doi shrugged and walked around Robin, pulling up the back of his vest.
"Hey- don't do that!"
"Awww, you don't have wings"
Robin scoffed and looked down at the little boy.
"As I was going to ask, what do you like to do?"
"Oo oo oo!! I like to color, and play hide and go seek, and color, and play freeze tag, and color!"
"Want to color with me then? I must warn you, I'm a very talented artist!"
Doi smiled happily and ran off, returning with a few pieces of paper a some crayons.
They both settled down on the floor and got to work. Doi bit his tounge as he scribbled on the paper.
After a few minutes, the pair finished.
"Do-one!" Robin chimed.
"Yeah, me-me too!"
Doi looked at Robin's paper, to see a sketch of an apple with legs singing and dancing.
"Thats stupid."
Robin have an offended squack and looked at Doi's paper.
There was a drawing of Doi, and someone who looked like Doi, but taller and... grosser.
"That's my dad. He has a computer."
Robin simply nodded, looking over at Doi. "Want to play a game?"
The two spent the rest of the day playing both outside and inside. By the end of the day, Doi was tuckered out.
Robin sat on the couch with Doi, who was out cold. He waited for the arrival of Harry patiently.
