Chapter 1

"Dadddd! I don't wanna' goooo!!" Chaerin whined as she pulled on her fathers arm.

" Stop whining Chaerin-ah! Your living with them and it's final." He stated firmly as he pulled her out of the taxi and practically dragged her to the looming mansion in front of them.

Confused? Me too, let's skip back to the beginning shall we?

*flashback*

The Lee company is the most successful company in the whole Korea, having only one daughter, and his wife that has passed away, Lee Kijin has to always maneuver around the world and organize time wisely. This makes him and his daughter, Lee Chaerin, a bit separated. It's not that he's a bad father, it's just that he's so busy that he doesn't even have time to eat breakfast with her!

Chaerin is now 21 and is currently living in an apartment building owned by her father. She works at an animal shelter nearby and has 3 bestfriends, Park Bom, Gong Minji, and Sandara Park. The 4 of them were childhood friends and are now, practically sisters.

But one should not be fooled by Chaerin's cute and shy first appearance.

She could be the prettiest, sweetest, girl next door with her crescent eye-smile and dimpled cheeks. But get on her bad side and you'll see strong cat eyes, fierce cheekbones, and a pearly white smirk.

But then again, she is a huge sucker for chick-flicks, cute babies and animals, and most importantly, family.

On one of her weekly visits, her father decided to break the news to her.

"Chaerin-ah, uh, I've got to tell you something." Her dad started, looking at her in the eye.

"Yeah, what do you wanna tell me?" She asked as she pulled her long black hair into a ponytail.

"I'm going on a business trip to America-" in the middle of his sentence Chaerin interrupted him.

"Well that's nice, get me something expensive." She said cheekily as her father sighed and shook his head.

"I'm not finished yet." He said which earned a confused look from his daughter.

"I'm gonna be there for over 2 years and you're going to stay with my business partners for the meantime."

"What?! But I have my own apartment!" She asked incredulously as she rose from her seat.

"Which will be withdrawn from you while I'm gone." He said to her grimly.

"I can stay with Bom unnie, Minji, or Dara unnie! Why should I stay with your 'business partners'?" She asked, already fuming and gesticulating wildly.

"Because, I need to know that you're safe and protected, and they can ensure that a hundred percent. Just do what I say and it'll all be over before you know it." He tried to reason with her.

"Dad, 2 years isn't gonna's fly by without me noticing it! What about my life, my career, my friends? You can't just take that away from me!

"Lee Chaerin, my decision is final and you can't change that." He said firmly, Chaerin just huffed, crossed her arms and stomped up the stairs.

"You'll be moving in with them next week!" He added when she was halfway up the stairs only to receive no response and a slamming of her bedroom door a few moments after.

'Well this is gonna be great' he thought glumly as he sighed and leaned his back on the armchair.

*end*

Now, back to where we left off!

"Now, promise me that you'll be good okay? I'll call you as much as I can." Kijin said as he kissed her daughters head, the said girl still pouting and crossing her arms.

"I love you?" He said as Chaerin finally sighed and hugged her father.

"I love you too dad." She responded as she broke the hug and looked on sadly as she saw her fathers car slowly driving away.
