The sound of feet made their way through the halls of a large tree house palace. A small girl with wavy white hair with curls at the end snuck towards one of the windows. Reaching up she pushed a window open with a great view of the sky. Stars twinkled above her, her eyes sparkling happily as she let out a silent giggle. Someone nudged her, a gasp coming from the girl as she looked down. "Oh, it's just you PoPo!" Beaming at the little black rat with green eyes, she picked him up, placing him on her shoulder. Katherine sighed, watching the stars with sparkling eyes. "Aren't the stars beautiful," She asked looking down at PoPo.
The rat squeaked in response, twitching his nose a little bit, looking towards the sky. "I agree," Katherine giggled resting her head on her arms. She heard footsteps, causing her eyes to widen. Closing the window, she hurried down the hallway, bursting back into her room. "Well, well, well, look who was out of bed." She smiled and giggled nervously, her nanny giving her an amused look. "Sorry Elizabeth!"Katherine giggled. "To bed with you, young lady," Her nanny commanded pointing to the bed. She climbed into her bed, Elizabeth tucking her in and pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Sweet dreams, you beautiful flower," Elizabeth smiled. "Sweet dreams," Katherine giggled falling asleep.
When morning arrived the sound of a scream came from Katherine's room. Elizabeth was on her knees, her eyes wide at the sight of the broken window and the signs of a struggle in the girls room. "Where's my daughter," The duke demanded his eyes widening in alarm. "I do not know! I tucked her back in last night after she snuck out to see the stars again!"Elizabeth sobbed. The girls nanny buried her face in her hands, letting out a distraught wail. "We'll find her," One of the other maids swore petting Elizabeth's back. "She must be so afraid! Oh Katherine! Where could she have been taken to!"Elizabeth cried gripping the maids hand.
Katherine laid on her side, her hands tied behind her back and her mouth stuffed with a cloth. Her eyes fluttered open, her nose feeling stuffy. What was happening. Where was she. Where was Elizabeth. Her nanny usually came to wake her up for breakfast....yet she was no where in sight, or rather, Katherine wasn't in her room. All she remembered was being tucked in after getting caught by her favorite maid, then the sounds of a window shattering awoke her. Katherine's eyes widened, piecing everything together. She was kidnapped and taken somewhere they might not be able to find her. She struggled and managed to get herself on her knees, sitting up.
"You're awake." She looked up, finding bandits standing there, smirks on their faces. "We've been waiting for you to wake up, we didn't wanna have fun while you were out cold," The lead bandit chuckled. Her eyes widened at what he said, frozen in fear as they stepped closer to her. He grabbed her nightgown, starting to rip it apart, laughing as she struggled. "Might I suggest you release her..." The lead bandit hit the ground, Katherine staring silently in shock at the sight of a sword in his back. A black haired male grabbed the hilt of the sword, the other two bandits dead on the ground. He stared at her, then smirked and fixed her nightgown. "Lets go," The male grinned carrying her princess style.
Elizabeth looked around, her eyes wide as she helped search for Katherine. "Katherine! Katherine, baby, where are you!"Elizabeth yelled getting desperate. Memories of her and Katherine filled her head. The first time she held the girl always after her mother had died giving birth to her, she loved Katherine as if she was her own child and the Duke understood that which was why he didn't separate them or give Katherine a different nanny. "No luck," The Duke asked walking over. Elizabeth shook her head, looking down. "She's dead then...the bandits would've done something to her and killed her by now," The Duke went on. He looked up, a cold glint in his eyes. "I have some guards to kill for failing at their job," The Duke adds walking away, leaving behind a shocked Elizabeth.
