The Miserable Boy

Troubled and hurt

He decided to end his life then and there

They would bully him and tease

Just because he was petite and obese?

They would chuck his head down the commode

And his personal pictures to the others they showed

Ashamed and misheard

He began to take a leap down the building, unheard

As if a miracle had happened

His shoulder an unknown hand grasped

Startled, he turned around to face a man with a sad gaze

"Why are you doing this, dear boy?

The will to live, it's not that easy to destroy

For you to take this step, you must have gone through a lot

And your past, I know I have no right to ask, so I shall not

But tell me, child, why did you do this?

Did you not think about your family and the future you'll miss?"

Distracted by the man's sudden change of tense to past

He looked below him, aghast

The dead body of a young boy

Spluttering blood and lying on the ground like some worn-out toy

His eyes still wide open even after death

The mouth gaped open as if begging for one last breath

Alas! It was too late to turn back now

He had realized that the man was the reaper

And the dead body his

Now he only hoped to live in heaven in a bliss
