True to my word, I worked part-time at Ichigoo Mochi and earned whatever I owed to Ji Woo for the ticket. Well, I probably paid lesser than what was agreed upon because I brought some mochi from work to let his guard down. It all worked out in the end.

The only problem was trying to figure out how to tell my uncle I was quitting after only a week of manning the cashier there. Uncle was a man who highly valued sense of responsibility. And me, his own niece, quitting after a week was very immature and not responsible at all. It definitely didn't reflect well on him as the boss.

Okay, but in my defense, I had already told him beforehand that I would only be working to pay back a debt.

It took me four days to convince him. I gave all sorts of reasons like how my schedule was already packed with Hagwon and school. However, my words didn't seem to go through to him. What actually convinced Uncle in the end was when my nose bled while I was arguing with him.

I was surprised too. Since I didn't normally get nosebleeds. I had heard of classmates getting nosebleeds from studying too much, so to experience it for myself was surreal. But it was thanks to that Uncle finally allowed me to quit.

It was nice to see him freak out and worry over me once in a while. He rarely showed his true emotions, so I never knew how he really felt about me. I thought he simply cared for me out of obligation, nothing more. But that incident made me realize that Uncle did have a heart and that he did care for me as family, and not because he had to. Although it was rare.

Anyway, I was hanging out at Ji Woo's place for the first time that week, after being officially let go, when I remembered that he had another ticket. He seemed reluctant to return to school, but maybe he would be willing to go out for Call 2 War.

So I asked him, "You wanna go together?"

"Huh?"

"The convention, " I clarified. "You're going, right? You have a freaking VIP ticket."

His eyes darted to the side, not meeting my gaze. I paused the game, earning a protest from him.

"You are going, right?" I asked again, stressing on my words.

Which fan in their right mind would sell off their VIP tickets, which are also sold out? Okay, maybe I would if I had some financial problems. Meanwhile, Ji Woo's family didn't look like they were facing any financial issues. So why was he hesitant?

"I tell you what. Meet me at the train station at 9 o'clock tomorrow. Let's go together," I said, instead.

Maybe all Ji Woo needed was a little push. Besides, I had never been to the convention so it would be nice to go with someone I knew.

The next day, as planned, I waited for Ji Woo at the train station near his house. I was 10 minutes early so I dropped him a text. 10 minutes later, my message was left on read, but no reply so I texted him again. I saw his status read "Online" for a moment before he went offline again. What the... Did he just...

I took a deep breath. Nevermind, maybe he was a little busy. I waited another five or ten more minutes, strolling along the shops near the train station. I kept checking my phone, in case I missed a text message. He still hadn't replied, nor had he read the message. So I messaged again, spamming the chat.

He came online again, then left. I decided to give him a call. It rang a few times before it abruptly ended. My patience was wearing thin. Finally, my phone dinged, signalling I had received a message. Finally!

What I saw angered me.

Ji Woo: Sorry, don't think I will be coming.

I checked the time and realised, I had been left waiting for almost half an hour. I stormed my way to his appartment and practically banging my fist onto the front door. I felt bad but I couldn't help it, I was just so mad.
