In a big tower was a bunch of adults sitting with a few children ' where's lexa I can't find her ' emma asked looking at natalie who smiled kneeling down to her level ' lexa is asleep she's safe now go finish playing we're leaving soon ' she said sending the small auburn haired girl away she stood up and saw her husband holding a blanket in his arms and a little girl was wrapped inside it ' how is she her attack was a bit worse this time ' she asked running a hand through the small girls hand ' nice to see you too and she's alright  I gave her a bit of water and read to calm her down she didn't want any of her toys or food though the toys I understand she didn't want any of her safe foods I tried to get her to eat but she didn't want any of it so I coaxed her to sleep instead she wouldn't let me get up though hence why she's in my arms now ' james replied as he adjusted his daughter in his arms ' okay that's not to bad we can revisit the food thing later when she wakes up but other than that nothing crazy ' she said  he smiled before walking into the living area where everyone else was.

he sat on the couch the three kids saw him and ran up to him only to be stopped by his hand ' lexa is asleep so you have to be quiet ' he whispered shifting his arm so they could see the sleeping little girl ' i wanna hold her ' peter said he was eight years old had brown hair green eyes and pale skin the second natalie had seen him she fell in love with him and wanted him to be her son almost immediately and james was happy to agree seeing it was fitting that their five-year-old twins needed some company they adopted peter when he was only three and then adopted lexa as a baby so they completed their family the three children climbed onto the couch and curled up against james who smiled fondly at his little family lexa stirred in his arms she settled back down james looked around and saw his kids falling asleep he got up as quietly as he could and watched as the kids huddled together once he did he unwrapped lexa from the blanket spreading it out over them and walking away from the living area with a smile on his face.

The kids woke up to a loud bang they screamed and curled closer to each other the twins holding onto their little siblings who looked equally as terrified as they were the adults ran to see what happened their parents having guns raised ' why the hell do you two have guns on you ' their friend Amy asked she was a scientist and a pretty great one at that ' we work for different lines  and forms of security it's normal for us to have at least one weapon on us ' natalie said as she pocketed her gun james doing the same they saw their terrified children and immediately their stone-cold demeanor softened james knelt down in front of them they were shielding their siblings with their bodies and they  were all covering their ears ' can you speak ' he asked his tone soft they shook their heads the other adults picked up on little things they were doing emma pulled her hair and bash started scratching at his legs lexa curled into herself as if trying to be invisible and peter was picking at his arms natalie and james tried to stop them but emma kicked at them a particular strong one slammed natalie into the coffee table a few feet away the children froze  as natalie hadn't moved a thud was the only sound that came from her the children freaked out even more as they saw that their mother wasn't moving slowly they crawled off the couch and stopped in front of her tears and terrified looks was all that could've been seen on their faces .

' m-m-mama-a ' lexa stammered out nat sat up ' i'm fine no bruises or scars that weren't on me that I didn't have before ' she said the four children ran to her hugging and crying ' it's okay she's alright she safe see ' james said kneeling beside his family hugging them ' i'm sorry we hurt you mama ' bash said the other adults in the room tried their best not to cry as did the two parents at the word mama ' it's okay ' she said her voice slightly wobbly the kids noticed this and pulled away to see the tears brimming her eyes ' why are you crying 'lexa asked ' you called me mama did you know that ' she said the kids' eyes widened each of them spilling out one apology after the next the adults thought it was cute if it wasn't for the fact an anxiety attck might be on the horizan and they don't want that ' it's fine I like it i'm not mad ' natalie said the children calmed down they hugged her again ' do you know what that sound is ' their friend toni asked her and ramona ran the company together as they were best friends it was a tech company and toni was the CEO of the andana tech industries the children shook their heads at her question ' it's a thunderstorm it means the sky is angry and it's realsing it's anger by making the big booms ' she said waving her hands around in silly motions ' the sky can get mad ' peter asked the adults forgot that they children sometimes takes things a bit to literal than what they mean ' not necessarily peter they mean that it's raining and sometimes when it rains the sy makes noise the sounds are loud aren't they ' amy asked the kids nodded their eyes were red from all the crying and they had a few scratches here and there from before lexa was the only one that was visibly okay but mentally all of them were hurting ' how we get home in the the ' emma asked trying to find the right word  but struggling to finish her sentence  ' thunderstorm emmy thunderstorm and we have umbrella's for you to use ' romana explained as she walked in she hugged everyone else and smiled once she got to toni who smiled at her in return they pulled away a light blush coating ramona's face that she hoped would go unoticed by the others all expect for two their friend jessie had a bright smile on his face after hugging her which turned to a smirk once he'd seen the blush that she not so sutbly tried to hide the kids scrambled to their feet jumping on her and everyone in the room relaxed at the fact that they were calm  again their parents left the room after telling the kids they were going to get their stuff the second they were alone james hugged natalie ' james they called me mama ' she half said half sobbed he rams his fingers throught her hair whispering to calm her down she let out a shaky sigh as she pulled away from him he kissed her but their sweet moment was cut short by someone saying ' ew nasty ' from somewhere in the room they knew the voice it was peter's and if he was around that meant the other's were here too ' alright come on out my little spies your mission's been compromised  ' natalie said giggling could be heard they followed the sound to a closet where their stuff was hidden.

' aha ' james yelled opening the door to find the four children curled up against the wall of the closet ' you found us papa ' emma said james tried his best  not to melt  at the word papa ' alright you little rascals grab your stuff we're going home ' james said natalie smiled from the side she knew he was trying his best not to just grab them all and hold them forever the kids grabbed their bags and checked to make sure everything was there lexa was looking under the bed for something ' lexa baby what are you looking for ' james asked kneeling to the ground beside her ' i can't find my baby deer ' she said ' fawn lexa it's called a fawn ' pater said as he grabbed a few of his things he left out ' yeah fawn i can't find it i had it in my bag but it's gone now ' she said her voice trailing off into a whimper before she could start crying however jessie came in holding the weighted stuffed animal she loved so much she grabbed it from him immediately hugging it closely to her chest ' so toni was right that was yours said she found it under the coffee table ' jessie said as the kids ran out the door right past him and left for the front entrance of the building their parents in tow they manage to make it to the car with minimal water damage done to them they finally made it home the kids ran upstairs to their bedrooms the family was finally home the parents went to bed with hardly anything to worry about for the night.
