YOU'RE NEXT

Ivory Jones

I'm Ivory Jones, 2 years of college and finally graduated. I was born on August 8th, 2003. My mom is like my best friend. I'm not the most talkative person you'll meet, but I talk a lot with my mom that's for sure. My dream is to be a doctor. Right now, I'm stuck being a nurse to check people in. 

I saw this amber alert pop up on my phone. "Emergency broadcast killer "F" is back from 2000s if you see a dead body run..." I was stunned to read that. In my sleepy town?! I was so confused I had to ask mom, so I go downstairs and look for mom and she was looking at the amber alert. Then I noticed... she's crying? "What's wrong mom?" I asked concerned. She wipes her tears, so I sit down, she says "nothing honey don't worry about it." I really wanted to know what she was sad about, so I waited it out.

I went to work all bored and quite like usual. Then saw this new guy he was the new nurse. Then for the first time in a while I built up the courage to talk to him. Which is never but I got good feeling from him. So, I go up to him and said really politely, "Hello sir, I'm Ivory Jones. May I ask your name?" He was completely silent. I was embarrassed after a minute or so past he finally said, "Oh sorry I was listening to music can you repeat that?" I giggled a little and said, "It's ok! I'm Ivory Jones. May I get your name?" He was completely silent again. He replied with, "I'm just joking with you sorry I'm Kai Parker." I got butterflies in my stomach. He wasn't funny at all, but I acted like it because he was in a good mood.

"Ivory Jones. Please show Kai Parker around the hospital--" She cuts herself off, "Oh I see you two already met well. Can you show him around?" My heart had a dance party I was so excited. "Of course, ma'am I'll be on that right away." I replied with properly. I was so nervous I went through it quickly. 

(30 minutes later) I didn't know how to say goodbye to Kai without making it weird. "Nice meeting you Ivory Jones." He bows as a joke and makes me laugh. "Bye weirdo." I said laughing.

I drive for about 15 minutes home traffic was terrible. I finally got home and went straight to bed. I couldn't stop thinking about Kai after 10 minutes straight of thinking about him I finally fell asleep thinking I'll see him tomorrow.

(The next day) 

I woke up happily and awake and got my clothes on, "Bye mom love you!!" Running out the door. There was no traffic on the road this morning I got there in 10 minutes I was so excited to work with him and then-- I froze when I saw he wasn't here. I had a normal boring day. Then I saw him skateboarding outside rushing inside. I shrieked inside I was so excited. He came booking it inside. He says, "Sorry I'm late!" I replied with, "It's ok, could you get that patient in room 23 some water?" He ran to get water and ran to room 23 and ran back. "You're a dirty little liar there is no patient 23!" I giggled and we both went back to work we both became really close, and he was my new best friend. I still love my mom though. After work ended, I hugged him goodbye and left. 

When I got home my mom was sitting on the couch looking at me like she was trying to say, "We need to talk." So, I did she said here's the truth.
