We'll see the light again

CHAPTER12

DEREK'S POV

2 hours later i'm sitting on my bed, still thinking about her. Did i do the right thing? Should've i helped her? Astrid comes in. 

''Agh''

She says seeing me sit on my bed. She comes and sits down next to me. 

''She's making you sad, isn't she?''

Astrid asks, surprising me. Could she know?

''Oh, yeah i know''

She says after the long silence from me. 

''You know what?''

I ask her. 

''That you are totallyin love with Katelyn''

There it comes. The thing that i didn't want anyone to know about. 

''What are you talking about?''

I chuckle, trying to sound as it's not true. 

''Come on, don't try to hide it, it's obvious''

She playfully shoves her shoulder into mine. 

''I mean you did run into literall fire for her''

''I ran in there to help her''

''Don't lie to yourself, you love her and you would do anything for her''

As she says that i realize something. Now i know what to do. I suddenly get up, surprising Astrid. 

''Where are you going?''

She asks.

''There's something i need to do''

And i rush out the room. 

LATER THAT NIGHT

KATELYN'S POV

It's time to put my plan in action. I have dressed in full black. I look at myself in the mirror. 

''Time to get my Ben back''

I say to myself confidently. And also to calm myself down. I take a deep breath and climb out and down the window. Once my feet have hit the ground i look around to see if anyone has seen me. Luckly no one has. I quickly run to the gate. As i was about to climb it a bullet rushes past me, nearly scraching my hand. 

''Agh, the fuck?''

I groan out loud. 

''Put your hands behinf your head and turn around''

Someone yells flashing the flashlight over me. I put my hands behind my head and turn around.

5 Minutes later i'm sitting in the conference hall and dad is yelling at me. 

''Why are you so irresponsible?!''

My dad yells at me.

''Shut up''

I mumble. 

''You should think before doing something for that jerk''

At this i snap.

''Shut up!!!''

I yell out loud. Making everyone in the room flinch.

''Katelyn-''

My mom was going to make me shut up, but i cut her off. 

''You don't get to talk!'' ''Not after what you've done!'' ''Not after i went in there, risking my life for you!" ''I could've died!''

I shout with tears in my eyes. 

''The guy that you just called jerk was the one to keep alive''

After my outburst i run out the room. In the hall i run into Derek. 

''YOU, it's your fault, YOU told them!!!''

I shout out of breath while also hitting his chest. He wanted to grab my hands but i push him out the way and run to my room. Once i get to my room i jump on the bed. And just cry. I haven't done that in a very long time. Fells pretty good to get that out of my system. 

LITTLE LATER

I don't know how much time has passed. I haven't moved from the bed. I've stopped crying. I don't even turn around when the door opens and shuts.
