Hey guys I'm feeling a little evil today mhahahahaah prepare yourselves

Piper P.O.V
We were in the Capitol, most of the districts were already there. A battle was being fought, and lost. Most lay dead or dying on the ground around us. The few left were getting weaker with every step, every slash.

We should have been able to help, but we couldn't call either camp or any of the gods. We were on our own. I should have told them. Katropolis began working when we got here.

I had seen our defeat. But I couldn't tell them or they would just give up. They needed hope and strength.
Of course, I'm an idiot. Reyna.
Reyna could lend them strength and hope if she wasn't too weak after helping Nico.

We fought, we harmed.
Gods I hope I never have to say that again.
It was going well, we were actually winning against all odds.

But then this happened.

Jason was fighting in his perfect Roman way alongside Reyna. But his glasses fell off. An enemy was running towards him.

Thinking it was us, he lowered his guard. And it got him killed. Time slowed. I screamed, fought until my enemy fell and ran towards him as he lay not dying, but already dead. Even Apollo couldn't save him now.

I cursed Death and Hades and especially the Fates for doing this to me. They took him from me. From everyone.

The battle was going quite well as nobody had found him, yet. We took a break inside a small shack for protection. Percy and Annabeth stood guard. Annabeth was looking at Percy then at me. She looked sad.

Oh gods she knows. Of course she knows she's a daughter of Athena.

When the guard roles switched, she made her way to me in my corner.

"I'm so sorry, he didn't deserve to go like that. You both deserved long lives together."

" There's nothing to be sorry about. He died, game over, get a new life"

"Sometimes holding on to something isn't bad. Grief leads to strength, strength leads to winning, winning will avenge his death."

"You're smarter than you let off. And that's saying something."

"Of course I am, I'm me."

Okay I have to admit, that got me smiling. That was the thing about Annabeth. Seriousness aside, she could always help. But the pain from Jason was too much.

I haven't cried in years, but I cried then.

It was too much to bear.

I told you. Hahahahaha. I never liked Jason anyway. But that isn't the only death. The name of next chapter will tell you. Be ready.
