A ray of light coming from the direction where Belldandy was supposed to be, went towards Cedrick.
The ray of light went through Cedrick’s body.
Cedrick’s power suddenly started to deteriorate. His body fell backwards, back of the head first to hit the cemented road.
Since Belldandy is a goddess, no amount of electrical voltage can kill her. She went out of the black flames created by Cedrick, unscathed. Not a single scratch or wound was on her body. She looked at Cedrick’s battered body on the highway… tried to see if he’s still alive… but there were no signs of life… no breathing… no pulse…
“Oh what have I done?!?” thought Belldandy. “I could not have killed him… Am I the one who actually killed? Did I actually kill somebody? Please… Please forgive me.” Tears rolled down her cheeks.
“I admit that I killed this mortal,” she cried out to heaven. “I broke the law, interfered with the things that are happening on this world, just for my own personal happiness! Just because I found joy in making people happy… and it all came to this… I really made a big sin. Maybe this happened because I was careless…” More tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Please don’t let Cedrick die… he is just a mere 8 year old kid who was corrupted by a society that oppressed him… please… punish me instead. Please let me suffer the consequences of my actions. Please if you want, let me burn in hell instead of this poor innocent child who has not even seen life’s true meaning.”
Cedrick started to cough. Blood and saliva came out of his mouth.
Belldandy was overjoyed at the fact that Cedrick was alive. She embraced Cedrick and kissed him mouth to mouth.
And then Urd and Skuld started to show up.
“Sister, the only thing that would solve this is if you erase Cedrick’s memory about you,” Urd said. “Destroy that memory permanently and completely. So that Cedrick won’t have flashbacks about you. So that he can start his life anew.”
“And you will be suspended for 3 months sister,” said Skuld sadly.
Moments later, cops and firemen arrived at the scene. They only saw the aftermath of the battle between a goddess and a Brood Knight.
The scene was a total mess. You’ve got a bus burning, an electrical post down, resulting in a blackout in some areas, and not to mention those who died as the bus disentegrated.
Many died. The bullies as well as the innocent people who had nothing to do.
The cops only saw Cedrick and brought him to the hospital. When he woke up, Cedrick was questioned about the incident.
“What incident?” Cedrick said. “Why am I in this hospital?”
The doctors took that answer as a sign of amnesia. They concluded that Cedrick’s memory was lost as a result of the incident that happened.
