I closed my locker door with a loud bang. He was standing across from me making out with his latest girlfriend. He was tall, muscular, with dark curls, blue-green eyes, and absolutely disgusting. His name was Liam Hill and he drove all the girls crazy. All the girls but me. I just wish he would get over himself. He locked lips with Kayla Massingale and she fell against him like she couldn't stand up anymore. Gross.

"Dreamy isn't he?" asked my best friend, Lisa, coming up beside me.

"Not really."

"Please, you would totally make out with him if you could."

"Not going to happen."

When the bell rang, Kayla staggered off towards her first class. I watched as she swayed back and forth like she'd had just a little too much to drink. Liam headed towards us. He ran his fingers through his hair and got a stupid smirk on his face. Lisa sighed like he was a dream come true.

Liam stopped in front of us, "How are you?"

"I'm good," said Lisa giggling.

"And you?" asked Liam looking straight at me.

"Drop dead," I said walking away from him and towards my first class.

I couldn't see him anymore but I could still hear Lisa giggling at something he said. When I got to class, I still didn't catch a break. I had to listen to all the girls going on and on about him.

"Did you see Liam this morning?" asked Clara Thomas.

"No. I missed him. I had to go to early detection," said Mia Daniels. I got the impression that she thought missing Liam was more like the end of the world than pure luck.

"How could you miss that butt in those jeans?" asked Heather Brown, "That's practically criminal."

It should be a crime having to sit here and listen to this crap. It's like he put them all under his spell. Under his spell. I meant it as a sarcastic joke, but the more I thought about it the more it made sense. He had them under some kind of spell. Normal humans probably wouldn't believe in magic, but I wasn't a normal human. I knew our world was full of extraordinary things. Werewolves and vampires. Witches and magic. The truth was, my parents were werewolves.

When I first found out, it freaked me out. Then, I got used to it. Eventually, I started to resent them. Werewolves had mates. This absolute love. Mated werewolves oozed love in a sickening way. I could only wish that I found something like that someday. As a human, I didn't have a mate. Not like a werewolf did anyway. Maybe someday I'd be lucky enough to find love though. Okay, so I might have been a little obsessed with love. But isn't that how girls are suppose to be?

I thought I had found love before. Twice actually. Both times it ended badly. Greg Stevenson and Peter George both broke up with me. They were short relationships, so it wasn't like I was in love with either of them. But I would never know what could have been. Greg broke up with me right after our first kiss. According to him, there had been no fireworks. Peter had broken up with me a day after our first kiss. He told me that he just wasn't feeling it anymore. It was like the kiss had ended what could have been a beautiful love story.

At lunch, I was forced to listen to more girls chatting about how Liam had looked incredibly great in his gym shorts and how they could really admire his jump shot. Yeah right. Jump shot was code for his muscular body and firm hind end. Blake Thompson sat down in front of me. He had been the most popular guy in school before Liam came along and started stealing all his girlfriends. In fact, up until a few days ago Kayla had been his girlfriend.

"What's up?" Blake asked.

"I know you're probably surprised with me asking you to join me at lunch and everything..."
